Though fans of Blake Shelton and Trace Adkins were happy to see them sing together at New Year’s Eve: Nashville’s Big Bash, many were angry because their performance was prerecorded despite having been heavily promoted as a live show.
The country singer got on stage with Adkins to perform the song, “Hillbilly Love,” which they previously sang together in 2011.
Another song they performed was “Hell Right,” a song by Shelton featuring Adkins.
Shelton wore a smooth, black button-up shirt and dark jeans.
Adkins was seen wearing dark jeans, a black T-shirt, a black cowboy hat and an open black button-up.
Users on X quickly figured out that Blake’s performance at this particular event was prerecorded.
“How’s Blake Shelton ‘live’ in Nashville for #CBSNashvilleNYE when he’s about to go on stage at @WinStarWorld [WinStar World Casino and Resort] in 5 minutes,” an X user wrote. “He must have one fast a– tour bus!

From a performance last week on the CMT Music Awards to fronting Lynyrd Skynyrd on their own “Tuesday’s Gone,” Jelly Roll has been making it a habit of stealing the show. That’ll probably be the case when the imposing, face-tattooed country singer-rapper puts his spin on a George Jones song at Still Playin’ Possum: Music and Memories of George Jones, a tribute concert set for April 25 in Huntsville, Alabama.

Fox needs new successful drama series. Last season, the renewals of some of the network's highest-rated drama series, came down to the wire. The network doesn't own them, so there's less profit. Monarch, however, is fully owned by Fox Entertainment, so even if the ratings aren't the best, this show could have a financial advantage when renewal time comes around. Will Monarch be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned. *Status Update Below.

It was a short-lived run for the Romans’ country music dynasty, as Fox has canceled Monarch after just one season. As reported by Deadline, Monarch will not be returning for a second season. The show had gone through a number of changes since it was originally filmed during the pandemic. Initially, it was set for a January 2022 launch but was pushed back as a result of Covid-19. It was then redesigned as a shorter 11-episode series. Created by Melissa London Hilfers, the musical drama revolved around Dottie (Susan Sarandon) and Albie Roman (Trace Adkins), the heads of a country music empire, and their daughter Nicky Roman (Anna Friel), who does all she can to protect the family’s reign in country music while ensuring her own stardom. The drama also starred Joshua Sasse, Beth Ditto, Iñigo Pascual, Meagan Holder, Eva Amurri, Emma Milani, and Martha Higareda. It featured guest appearances...

The Roman Family's story will be incomplete on Fox.
According to Deadline, Monarch has been canceled after one season.
The news dropped just one day after the Monarch Season 1 finale, which was another shocking hour of the Country Music drama series.
Monarch launched in the fall, despite being initially set to premiere much earlier this year.
At the time of the delay, Fox noted that it wanted to give the show more time for promotion.
The series debuted with a football lerad-in back in early September with 4 million viewers and a 0.91 rating, with the premiere going on to reach much higher numbers with encores and delayed viewing factored in.
Unfortunately, the show failed to garner much traction in its regular Tuesdays at 9 p.m. time period, with the series overall averaging 1.9 million viewers and a 0.3 rating
The finale on Tuesday managed 1.6 million viewers and a 0.2 rating.

Fox’s first-year series Monarch is finished.
The network canceled the family drama set in the world of country music after a single season. The show’s season — now series — finale aired Tuesday night.
Monarch had initially been slated to premiere in January 2022 with the NFL’s NFC championship game as its lead-in. A few weeks before its debut, however, Fox pulled the show from that spot and moved it to the fall, citing pandemic-related concerns that production might be interrupted.
It premiered following an NFL telecast Sept. 11 and pulled in decent ratings but was unable to keep that audience once it moved to its regular time period on Tuesday nights. “Monarch,” the country music drama starring Susan Sarandon and Trace Adkins, has been canceled after one season on Fox, IndieWire has confirmed.
The show will not return for a second season and will end after Tuesday night’s season – now series – finale.
“Monarch” aimed to be a soapy character drama in the vein of “Nashville” about The Romans, billed as the first family of country music who have built a recording dynasty across generations. But when their dynasty’s reign is put in jeopardy, the family’s matriarch Nicolette Roman (Anna Friel) stops at nothing to restore their family’s legacy.
And though the season premiere was Fox’s most-watched scripted series debut in three years, seen by 3.8 million viewers with a 0.8 score in the key demo, its remaining 10 episodes struggled and averaged far below that initial high mark. The premiere got a big bump following an NFL double header...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Monarch Episode 7, “About Last Night.”] Monarch answers the questions we’ve had through the first six episodes: Who’s dead, and what exactly happened? Showrunner Jon Feldman takes us inside that reveal and teases what’s ahead. When did you know you’d be killing off Clive? Jon Feldman: As we started to undergo this murder mystery subplot, we went through all the possible suspects and potential people...
