“Initially I did say no,” admits Golden Globe nominated actress Chrissy Metz while discussing her participation as Poodle Moth on the Fox reality TV series “The Masked Singer.” “I didn’t think I could do it. I was like, ‘I don’t know if I’m the girl for the job.’ Also, I run hot, especially in my face. How am I going to have a mask on and sing in the way that I’m supposed to sound good? It took some convincing. Ultimately, I realized it was really fun, challenging and liberating.” Watch her exclusive video interview with Gold Derby senior editor Denton Davidson above.
Metz was unmasked as Poodle Moth on Wednesday night’s quarter-finals episode of Season 11. She went home in fourth place as Clock, Goldfish and Gumball advanced to next week’s semi-finals. Panelist Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg was the only one who guessed her identity.

Outspoken country star Gabby Barrett called out a lot of people in Nashville with her recent comments. More specifically, she called out the Mean Girl clique that exists among the stars in the genre, and she had plenty to say about it.
Gabby Barrett Has Never Been Afraid To Be Herself
In all aspects of life, there are people who go along with the status quo. These people never rock the boat, and always stay in their lane. Gabby Barrett is not one of these people. Barrett has made a name for herself by being herself, unapologetically so.
One thing about Gabby Barrett is, she calls it just as she sees it. This is true even when what she has to say may ruffle some feathers and get under some skin. In the entertainment industry, and in life, a lot of it comes down to who you know. As for Barrett,...

Taylor Swift has written song after song that would be good to listen to on a first date. She once named her favorite first date song. Notably, the tune is in a style that Swift has never dabbled in herself.
Taylor Swift loves a 1st date song that’s emo
During a 2015 interview with Rolling Stone, Swift named some of the songs that inspired her. Her list included Carly Simon’s “You’re So Vain,” a predecessor to her many breakup songs, Faith Hill’s “This Kiss,” a predecessor to her country-pop crossover hits, and Ed Sheeran’s “Lego House,” a predecessor to the folk love songs from her albums Folklore and Evermore. One of the rock songs on the list was “Hands Down” by Dashboard Confessional.

Taylor Swift has given the world some of the most popular love songs of modern times. A love song by a well-known indie band knocked her off of her feet. She said the tune was dark, but it managed to capture the true feeling of romance. Notably, Swift went on to work with the band in question.
Taylor Swift said this love song feels ‘like a memory’
During a 2015 interview with Rolling Stone, Swift was asked to name the music that made her into an artist. Some of her picks included Carly Simon’s breakup song “You’re So Vain,” Faith Hill’s country-pop love song “This Kiss,” and Jimmy Eat World’s crossover hit “The Middle.” One of the folk songs on the list was Bon Iver’s “Blood Bank.” Swift must be a big Bon Iver fan since “Blood Bank” is not one of the band’s more famous tunes.

In addition to releasing hit after hit, Taylor Swift has occasionally made older songs popular again. For example, she danced to a 2000s rock song and that changed everything for a very 2000s band. A member of that group discussed how Swift changed their career. He also recalled working with Swift once.
In a commercial, Taylor Swift said she loved this song in middle school
Jimmy Eat World is a pop-punk band that peaked during their genre’s heyday in the early 2000s. They are mostly known for their hit single “The Middle,” which is one of the catchiest rock songs ever. Swift dances around to the song in a commercial for Apple Music. In the commercial, the “I Knew You Were Trouble” singer says that she used to listen to “The Middle” when she was in middle school.
During a 2016 interview on Medium, Jimmy Eat World’s Jim Adkins was asked about the commercial.

When it comes to corralling viewers, Taylor Sheridan is hardly all hat, no cattle. The ultra-prolific writer-director’s Yellowstone universe shows and his other Paramount+ dramas perform quite strongly, helping to heavily prop up the streamer with its 63 million subscribers. Naturally, however, some shows outpull others. Here, The Hollywood Reporter takes a closer look at all the titles Sheridan has wrangled so far and how they’ve fared during their rollouts.

Actor Sam Elliott is regarded as one of the most talented actors in the industry who is also known for his full mustache and deep & sonorous voice. The actor appeared in the Western drama miniseries 1883 created by Taylor Sheridan. The miniseries serves as the first of several prequels of Sheridan’s Yellowstone and goes into detail of how Duttons came to own the land which is now known as Yellowstone Ranch.
The ten-episode long limited series was released in December 2021 and to introduce the prequel to the audience of Yellowstone viewers, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill appeared on Yellowstone. The stars appeared as James and Margaret Dutton in a flashback scene. 1883 followed the story of the post-Civil War generation of the Dutton family and their journey to Fort Worth, Texas before settling in Montana. Sam Elliott starred as Shea Brennan and had a very surprising opinion when it came to Yellowstone.

If you’ve attended a mainstream country concert in the past decade, you’re probably familiar with the part of the set where the headliner sprinkles in a non-obvious cover from an adjacent genre like pop, R&b, or classic rock. It’s a move with any number of purposes: to show an artist’s range of influences, to reel in a drifting crowd with a massive hit, to appeal to a wider audience, or to highlight how fluid and arbitrary genre borders really are when you strip a song back to its essentials.

Two days ago, Dan Marfisi, a longtime musician and songwriter in the L.A. area, received a text from a composer friend. “He wrote, ‘Did you write this song on The X-Files?’” Marfisi says. “He said, ‘You should go to Twitter and check out these threads. You’ll be a hero.’”
Marfisi had no idea what his friend was talking about, but when he went online, he learned that more than a few people have been trying to unearth information about a piece of music he co-wrote 25 years ago — and had barely thought about since.

He and his wife, Faith Hill, took truckloads of relief items down to the Gulf area after Hurricane Katrina. They also performed a charity tour, giving all the proceeds to the Neighbor's Keeper Foundation, a group the couple formed to help victims of the disaster.
The singer designed a charity t-shirt sold through Angelwear to benefit MusiCares, which supports musicians in times of need, but his charity focus is on health issues, especially since picking up the reins of his late father’s charity. The Tug McGraw Foundation raises funds to enhance the quality of life of children and adults with brain tumors; Tim hosted a charity poker tournament to benefit the Foundation.

The wait for the last-ever episodes of Yellowstone has been excruciating, but we now know when the final episodes are set to air.
Paramount Network confirmed Thursday that the second half of Yellowstone Season 5 is set to premiere in November 2024.
While the episodes were initially set to premiere this summer, Kevin Costner's availability, as well as the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes, took the series out of contention for a 2023 return date.
Yellowstone tells the sprawling story of the Dutton family, and the series doesn't exactly have a fast turnaround time when it comes to production.
Amid alleged behind-the-scenes drama, Paramount confirmed earlier this year that the red-hot series would end with these final episodes of the season.
Before the series ending announcement, six episodes remained of Yellowstone Season 5, but there's a good chance that will change now that the last-minute decision to end the show has been made.

You just can’t keep the Dutton family down: Paramount Network announced Thursday that two new Yellowstone spinoffs have been officially ordered with the working titles 1944 and 2024.
1944 is the latest in a run of prequels created by Yellowstone writer/director Taylor Sheridan. As for 2024, no plot details are currently available, other than it’s expected to begin following the conclusion of the flagship Yellowstone series. According to Variety, the contemporary spinoff will feature new cast members and locations, with crossover characters mixed in as well. As previously reported, Matthew McConaughey is set to saddle up for this modern-day rodeo.

The names Tim McGraw and Faith Hill no doubt ring bells in multiple circles and for good reason too. Talented country singer and his actress wife have been hitched since 1996 and by all indications are still going strong. It’s safe to say that their union doesn’t just inspire fuzzy feelings, but has also produced a talented daughter — Audrey Caroline McGraw. The third of three girls, Audrey McGraw was pretty much as shielded as her siblings when growing up. However, her decision to step into the limelight much like her parents has made her one to watch. So without...

Annie Lennox has come a long way since fronting the Grammy Award-winning Eurythmics in the 1980s. Since then she has become a successful solo artist, sold more than 80 million records, and become renowned for her charity work with organizations such as Amnesty International, Greenpeace, and Nelson Mandela’s 46664 Foundation.
The singer, who received the British Red Cross' Services to Humanity Award in 2008, dedicates much of her time to raising awareness of the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Africa.

Tim McGraw was, unsurprisingly, honoured to have a Taylor Swift single named after him.
Swift’s very first single was released back in 2006 and was inspired by one of her favourite country artists at the time, Tim McGraw.
While chatting to Et Canada’s Morgan Hoffman for his “One-on-One” special, McGraw said of how crazy it is that Swift launched her career with a song inspired by him: “I know. It’s pretty cool.
“At first, I have to say, when she first came out with it, I was like ‘Goddamn, am I that old that people are singing songs with my name in it now?’ Maybe I should be out the door.”

[This story contains spoilers from 1883, 1923 and Yellowstone season five.]
With each new series in the megahit Yellowstone franchise, a new generation of Duttons emerges. After launching in 2018 with Kevin Costner’s central patriarch John Dutton and his immediate family, creator Taylor Sheridan traveled back in time to expand the franchise and introduce elder generations of Duttons, first with the single season of 1883 and now with the series 1923, which has been renewed for a second season.
The Dutton family tree has branched out as Yellowstone has been airing, with the flagship series currently at the halfway point in its fifth and final run. First, viewers followed James (Tim McGraw) and Margaret Dutton (Faith Hill) on their family’s treacherous journey west through the Great Plains in 1883, a trek that would ultimately lead to what becomes the Yellowstone ranch of the flagship series. And later, 1923 would introduce the audience to Jacob (Harrison Ford) and Cara Dutton (Helen Mirren), the Duttons who...

The Oldenburg Film Festival has picked two iconoclast filmmakers to honor for its 30th anniversary edition: French actor/director Isild Le Besco and Canadian producer Jen Gatien. Both women have carved out unique paths in independent cinema, defying conventions and expectations.
Le Besco has worked in front of the camera since she was eight, and by her early 20s was already a face of French auteur cinema, with two César nominations — for her performances in Benoît Jacquot’s Sade (2000) and Cédric Kahn’s Roberto Succo (2001) and a best actress honor in Venice for Jacquot’s L’Intouchable (2006).
Her directorial debut, 2004’s Demi-Tarif (Half-Price), the story of three young siblings, Romeo (Kolia Litscher), Launa (Lila Salet), and the youngest, Leo (Cindy David), left on their own in a rundown Paris apartment, was an unmediated look into the world of childhood and drew praise from the likes of Mia Hansen-Løve, whose review,...

Exclusive: Nashville’s famed Bluebird Cafe, the renowned songwriter-friendly venue that gave an early musical home to Taylor Swift, Garth Brooks, Faith Hill and many other country and pop stars, is getting the stage musical treatment. Bluebird, a new musical inspired by the cafe, is in the works from Something Rotten! co-creator Wayne Kirkpatrick and songwriter-producer Don Chaffer.
“The Bluebird is our Ryman Auditorium, our Carnegie Hall,” said Kirkpatrick. “If you know, you know. I can’t wait to share it with those who don’t.”
Sometimes called to “the Mother Church of Songwriting,” The Bluebird Cafe has, for the past 41 years, been a launching pad for countless songwriters and artists. Prolific creator Taylor Sheridan has a ton of projects out, and more on the way. He's responsible for the juggernaut Paramount series "Yellowstone," as well as its spin-off/prequels "1883" and "1923," plus "Lawmen: Bass Reeves" coming soon. Outside of that franchise, he's got "Mayor of Kingstown," "Tulsa King," and "Special Ops: Lioness." He's able to make a phone call to Harrison Ford (Jacob Dutton) and Helen Mirren (Cara Dutton) to cast them in "1923," and can pull names like Nicole Kidman and Sylvester Stallone. It feels like his shows are responsible for most of Paramount+'s original library, and while that may not be completely true, it's not far off.

True to its lineage as part of the Dutton-verse, Yellowstone prequel 1883 delivered a big audience for the start of its cable run.
The Paramount+ series, which premiered in late 2021, is getting a full-season run on Paramount Network over the summer, and it drew a lot of eyeballs for its June 18 debut on the cable outlet. The two-episode premiere drew 3.8 million viewers on its first night, including replays and simulcasts on five other Paramount Global cable channels. The two episodes on Paramount Network averaged 1.52 million viewers, and simulcasts on Comedy Central, CMT, MTV, Pop and TV Land added about a million more to each episode. Replays contributed the rest.
That’s a strong showing, particularly considering that 1883 has been available to stream in its entirety for more than a year. In fact, were it a new series, it would be the most watched scripted debut on cable since The Walking Dead: World Beyond...
