Two actors have been added to the cast of Rescue: Hi-Surf in "highly recurring roles." Shawn Hatosy (Animal Kingdom) and Ian Anthony Dale (The Resident) will be featured on the new action drama series when it debuts during the 2024-25 TV season.
Starring Robbie Magasiva, Arielle Kebbel, Adam Demos, Kekoa Kekumano, Alex Aiono, and Zoe Cipres, the Rescue: Hi-Surf series follows the lifeguards that work on Oahu both on and off the clock. Tick tock, y’all. With only four contestants remaining on The Masked Singer, time is running out to identify this season’s secret celebrities. Fortunately, we think we’ve clocked them all at this point.
We’ve already told you which High School Musical star is in the Goldfish costume, which This Is Us actress is emoting from within the Poodle Moth, and which former Friday Night Lights quarterback is bringing Gumball to life — which just leaves one more star to expose.

It’s back to the beach for Shawn Hatosy. The actor, best known for playing Andrew “Pope” Cody on TNT’s Animal Kingdom, is joining the cast of Fox’s Rescue: Hi-Surf in a recurring role, our sister site Deadline reports.
Ordered for the 2024–2025 TV season, Rescue: Hi-Surf “is an action-packed drama that follows the personal and professional lives of the heavy-water lifeguards who patrol and protect the North Shore of O’ahu — the most famous and dangerous stretch of coastline in the world,” according to Fox. “Each episode will feature these dedicated, heroic, and adrenaline-seeking first-responders saving lives in...

Exclusive: Shawn Hatosy (Animal Kingdom) and Ian Anthony Dale (Accused, The Resident) have joined the cast in heavily recurring roles on the network’s upcoming Rescue: Hi-Surf, the long-in-the-works lifeguard drama from John Wells and Matt Kester.
Hatosy will play Clayton Emerson, a natural politician and the father of rookie lifeguard Kainalu (Alex Aiono). Councilman Emerson is a shoe-in as the next Honolulu Mayor, a position that can work to his and Sonny’s (Robbie Magasiva) mutual advantage when it comes to getting things they want.
The role reunites Hatosy with his Animal Kingdom team of Wells and Kester. Hatosy will also direct the 12th episode of Rescue: Hi-Surf, which has been picked up for 19 episodes by Fox. It will air during the 2024-25 season.

Two days ago, I mentioned to the loved ones I was spending Christmas with that I knew exactly where I was 25 years earlier. On the evening of December 25, 1998, I was sitting in a movie theatre, taking in an opening day screening of director Robert Rodriguez‘s alien invasion horror film The Faculty (watch it Here). Now, two days after the film’s 25th anniversary, scooper Daniel Richtman has revealed on his Patreon page that Rodriguez is producing a remake of The Faculty!
That’s all of the information that’s available at this time. The Faculty is getting a remake and Robert Rodriguez is on board as producer.
Rodriguez directed the original The Faculty from a screenplay by Scream writer Kevin Williamson (working from a story by David Wechter and Bruce Kimmel). The film has the following synopsis: To the students at Harrington High, the principal and her posse of...

To find out what went into the making of this alien invasion high school movie, check out the video embedded above.
Directed by Robert Rodriguez from a screenplay by Kevin Williamson (working from a story by David Wechter and Bruce Kimmel), The Faculty has the following synopsis: To the students at Harrington High, the principal and her posse of teachers have always been a little odd, but lately they’ve been behaving positively alien. Controlled by otherworldly parasites, the faculty try to infect students one by one. Cheerleader Delilah, football player Stan, drug dealer Zeke, and new girl Marybeth team up...

When you think about horror movies from the ’90s, 1998 specifically, a lot of great titles come to mind. There’s I Still Know What You Did Last Summer and John Carpenter’s Vampires. You might even find yourself talking for hours about the forever quotable Bride of Chucky, but one film (to me) stood out above the rest. The Faculty was a movie that came along at the right time, with the right stars aligning. It was directed by Robert Rodriguez from a script by Kevin Williamson (and a story by David Wechter and Bruce Kimmel), fresh off his success with the first Scream film just two years earlier.
The first thing that jumped off the screen was the choice of music. The film sported an amazing soundtrack comprising mostly of covers, highlighted by the superstar group Class of ’99. We were then introduced to the first member of the faculty,...

As the kids aptly put it in the film, “Fuck space.”

Bill Treusch, the New York-based talent manager who ushered the careers of stars like Sissy Spacek, Diane Keaton, Christopher Walken, Melissa Leo and Viggo Mortenson died on Tuesday following a long illness, his niece Shannon Treusch confirmed. He was 80.
The founder of Bill Treusch Management (formerly Bill Treusch & Associates) got his start as an assistant to the Oscar-nominated actor Montgomery Clift and then as a theatrical talent agent with Dudley Field Malone. He would find his true calling while assisting casting director Marion Dougherty, who recognized his ability to spot talent. Treusch launched his five-decade career in talent management from a basement in Dougherty’s office, as told in the 2012 documentary “Casting By.”
Treusch’s company, which began as a one-man operation, went on to shepherd many stars throughout their careers. In addition to those aforementioned, his roster included Richard Jenkins, Tom Hulce, Eric Roberts, Tom Berenger, Peter Weller, Carol Kane,...

Bill Treusch, a longtime New York talent manager who once served as personal assistant to Montgomery Clift and went on help guide the careers of Sissy Spacek, Christopher Walken, Tom Hulce, Diane Keaton, Eric Roberts, Tom Berenger and numerous others, died Tuesday in New York City following a lengthy illness. He was 80.
Following his stint as Clift’s personal assistant, Treusch became a theatrical talent agent with Dudley Field Malone. He joined the casting office of Marion Dougherty where he worked with casting agents Juliet Taylor, Wallis Nicita, and Gretchen Rennell.
Although Dougherty believed Treusch was unsuited to casting, she recognized his eye for talent. Settled into Dougherty’s basement office, Treusch flourished and eventually founded his own one-man operation that evolved into Bill Treusch Management, a leading management company.

Bill Treusch, the admired New York-based talent manager who jump-started the career of Sissy Spacek and represented Christopher Walken, Diane Keaton, Viggo Mortensen, Richard Jenkins and many others during his five-decade career, has died. He was 80.
Treusch died Tuesday in New York after a long illness, his niece Shannon Treusch, founder and partner of the public relations firm Falco Ink., announced.
Treusch got his big break when legendary casting director Marion Dougherty recognized his eye for talent and gave him an office in her basement at East 30th Street in Manhattan. Given how displeased Ellen Barkin had seemed to be to have been killed off Animal Kingdom in the TNT drama’s penultimate Season 4 episode, it wasn’t exactly a surprise that she didn’t return for Sunday’s series finale. What was a surprise, however, was that the show didn’t use any flashbacks of her version of Smurf, even as oldest son Pope was grappling with his culpability in twin sister Julia’s downfall. How come?
“There had been some concepts of how to introduce Smurf [into the episode],” showrunner Daniele Nathanson tells TVLine. And any way you slice it, “the show has always been about Smurf.

As we've tuned into Animal Kingdom Season 6, it's undeniably clear that Julia Cody is at the center of this story.
And the relationship between the Cody twins has shaped so much of everything.
With Animal Kingdom Season 6 Episode 13 teasing that Andrew commits the Original Sin, it's safe to say that there will be some focus on the Cody twins during the series' final hour.

After six seasons, 75 episodes and countless beatdowns, Animal Kingdom comes roaring to a close with Sunday’s series finale. And although regular viewers may think that they’re prepared for the Codys’ last hurrah, executive producer Daniele Nathanson advises them to think again.
The ominously titled “Fubar,” which the showrunner also wrote, is “explosive… emotional… unpredictable,” she tells TVLine, hastening to remind us that “anything can happen in the Animal Kingdom. If you’ve watched all six seasons of the show, you know that major characters meet with major endings.” (Ellen Barkin’s Smurf and Scott Speedman’s Baz would no doubt agree.

Just when it seemed like Pope found some semblance of happiness with his skate park, we learn that Thompson is on the Catherine case, and she's relentless and not one to play by the rules.
By the end of Animal Kingdom Season 6 Episode 3, she spoke to darling Lena, and by the close of Animal Kingdom Season 6 Episode 4, we found out she has an informant getting close to Pope at the skate park. It's not looking good for the eldest Cody.
We have never seen Pope this happy and stable. It makes the buildup to Thompson coming after Pope feel more nerve-wracking as a result.
His skate park has brought him such joy, and while he was resistant to the notion of sharing it with others, he quickly realized that if you can't, or rather shouldn't, literally beat them,...

Three episodes into the final season, Animal Kingdom at last revisited the discovery of Catherine’s body at the end of Season 5. (Read the full recap of that episode here.)
In the first of Sunday’s two episodes, the Shawn Hatosy-directed “Pressure and Time,” a Detective Louise Thompson (Tyrant alum Moran Atias) began looking into the very cold case of Catherine’s murder. Though her colleagues seemed to think that the case wasn’t so much cold as closed — they believed that Baz was the guilty party — Thompson’s interest was piqued when she learned that the deceased had...

If the spoiler-filled trailer that TNT released Thursday for the sixth and final season of Animal Kingdom is any indication, the crime drama will be going out with a bang. A whole lotta bangs, as a matter of fact.
In the action-packed clip, which you can watch in full above, we learn that not only is Denis Leary back as Deran’s ne’er-do-well father Billy, but against all odds, so is Grey’s Anatomy’s Scott Speedman as the late Baz (presumably in a newly created flashback). We also get a hint of the panic that ensues when Craig and...

It's the end of an era for fans of TNT's super hot crime family.
Animal Kingdom roars for its last time when the sixth and final season airs on June 19.
We've previously shared the thrilling final trailer, and now TNT has released its official key art for the series' last hurrah.
Key art notoriously gives us clues as to what we can anticipate in the upcoming season, and this badass photo feels quite revealing.
Whether it's speculation based on the source material or because the laws of the jungle would demand that the Cody boys' dangerous lifestyle would catch up to them, it's easy to assume that not everyone will make it out of the series alive.
Animal Kingdom already shocked the fandom when they killed off matriarch Smurf in Animal Kingdom Season 4.
They've proven that not a single soul is safe, and the final season will likely pull out all the stops,...

There’s playing with fire, and then there’s… this. In the key art for the sixth and final season of Animal Kingdom that TVLine obtained exclusively from TNT, Shawn Hatosy’s Pope is at once skating on thin ice and skateboarding toward a blaze that looks big enough to incinerate anything it touches.
Were we the betting sort, we’d wager that the poster is a harbinger of doom for the late Smurf’s unstable oldest son. In addition to the whole Cody family’s habit of getting themselves into dangerous scrapes, Season 5 concluded with the police discovering the body of Catherine,...

Animal Kingdom is poised to throw its last punch. TNT announced on Wednesday that the crime-family drama’s sixth and final season will kick off on Sunday, June 19.
Along with the premiere date, the cable network dropped a trailer that was, as you’d hope and expect from the show, fairly brutal. Shots are fired and blows taken as the Codys decide to tackle a 5M job that’ll allow them to start fresh. In other words, as Craig puts it, “it’s showtime.”

You’ve gotta, ahem, hand it to Animal Kingdom’s Cody clan: They work hard for the money. In Sunday’s Shawn Hatosy-directed episode, while Pope and J disposed of Livengood’s remains, Craig and Deran scoped out the hawala that Frankie hoped would be her ticket outta the country. And if you keep reading, we’ll go over all of the gory — and I do mean gory — details.

The Codys have picked an ambitious job for their first score as a unit where everyone is on the same page.
The hawala job was hard enough when it was the union hall, but by the end of Animal Kingdom Season 5 Episode 11, the hour revealed that their score requires the infiltration of a highly secure shipping dock.
The Codys think they can pull this off and that it's too late to back out now, but can they?
We got many treats with this one, including Shawn Hatosy taking a spin in the director chair again. Naturally, he always excels at that, too.
The hour picked up where Animal Kingdom Season 5 Episode 10 left off with the boys staring at a dead Fed on the floor of Deran's bar.
