Herrera was born and raised in New Mexico by her mother, a beloved kindergarten teacher, and her grandparents (grandmother née Salazar). She began training in dance at a very young age and started acting in public school drama club performances and competitions. Passing on a career in science with an NNSA lab in New Mexico, Herrera received her formal acting training in New York City. - Outside of "Action" and "Cut", it's not my job to convince anyone of anything. I often think of what Saint Bernadette Soubirous of Lourdes is quoted as saying - although she was speaking directly about the apparitions, I believe - that it was her job to inform, not to convince. I think this can apply to living a peaceful daily life.
