It might be Rick and Morty.

Ian Gelder, the actor who played Kevan Lannister in HBO’s Game of Thrones, has died at the age of 74.
Gelder’s husband, Ben Daniels, shared a post on social media announcing his death.
“It is with huge huge sadness and a heavy heart broken into a million pieces that I’m leaving this post to announce the passing of my darling husband and life partner Ian Gelder,” read the post from Daniels on Instagram. “Ian was diagnosed with bile duct cancer in December and yesterday he passed at 13.07. I’d stopped all work to be his carer but neither of us had any idea that it would all be so fast.”
Daniels called Gelder his “absolute rock” and said they had “been partners for more than 30 years.”
“If we weren’t together we spoke to each other everyday,” Daniels continued. “He was the kindest, most generous spirited and loving human being.

Ever since it was first reported that Hugh Jackman would reprise his iconic Wolverine role in the upcoming Deadpool 3 movie, fans have been giddy with anticipation. But what has really caused a stir in the fandom is the possibility of the actor donning Wolverine’s iconic costume once again.
Yes, Jackman, 55, will eventually put on his yellow and blue X-Men outfit in the upcoming Shawn Levyflick-helmed flick, having made his screen debut as Logan in X-Men (2000). But for many years, the actor’s gritty portrayal of Wolverine in films, including James Mangold’s Logan (2017), served as the character’s gold standard.

Joe Pasquale has a Pampers advert and Bob Hoskins to thank for landing a role in 2006’s Garfield movie: more here.
If you’re reading this from the UK, then you may already be acquainted with the work of comedian Joe Pasquale, whose all-but-trademarked squeaky voice is a distinctive part of his act. It’s also a voice that’s earned him a lot of professional voiceover work, and one of those jobs many moons ago was for a nappy advert.
As he explained on the Richard Herring’s Leicester Square Theatre Podcast, he was hired to do one particular Pampers campaign with the late Bob Hoskins. Unusually, the pair were to sit in a recording booth together, rather than record their lines separately. Yet as Pasquale explained, Hoskins didn’t believe the sound coming out of his co-star was quite right. “That voice… I’ve never heard it come...

By taking home the 2024 Best Actor Oscar for “Oppenheimer,” Cillian Murphy blazed a trail as the first Irish-born lead performer ever honored by the film academy. Prior to his victory, there had not been a native Irish acting winner in over 30 years nor any from his city of Cork, as the only earlier examples had involved supporting winners and fellow Dubliners Barry Fitzgerald and Brenda Fricker. His historic achievement brings the total number of different countries that have produced acting champs during the last decade to eight.
As has been the case throughout practically all of Oscars history, the United States is by far the dominant birthplace among the 2015-2024 acting winners. Of the group’s 37 unique members, 26 (or 70.3%) originate from there, including newly-crowned victors Emma Stone (“Poor Things”), Robert Downey Jr. (“Oppenheimer”), and Da’Vine Joy Randolph (“The Holdovers”). In Alvin Rakoff’s 1964 British drama, Byrd is an out-of-work actor whose breezy, cynical exuberance masks increasing terror of permanent unemployment and, like Withnail, he is desperate for his agent to call, stunned by his flatmate booking a glamorous film job and stuck living in a scuzzy boarding house in Camden Town (although exteriors were shot in Paddington).
After being fired from his job in provincial rep, Chick has come back down to London to try his luck, meeting up with all the old faces, the familiar parade of ageing thespian losers hanging round West End pubs and cafes during the day and mooching desolately past theatres with huge hoardings showing rave reviews for successful actors.

Classic 1990s comedy chat show The Kumars is returning to television, here are the details.
In the 1990s, there were two shows which brought black British comedy into the mainstream. The first was The Real McCoy, a sketch show which launched the television careers of double acts Curtis Walker and Ishmael Thomas, and Llewella Gideon and Collette Johnson. Later series featured Robbie Gee, Eddie Nestor, Judith Jacob, Kulvinder Ghir, Meera Syal and the much missed Felix Dexter, amongst others.
The second series was sketch show Goodness Gracious Me, which premiered on the BBC in 1997. Taking an irreverent look at Asian-British experience, the series is probably best known for the now iconic ‘Going For An English’ sketch, which poked fun at the stereotypical British experience of going for a curry, but flipping races to an Indian family going out for bland English food.

London, Feb 18 (Ians) ‘Dr Who’ star David Tennant roped in a host of celebrity friends for his opening monologue at the BAFTAs, reports ‘Variety’.
The 2024 show started at the Royal Festival Hall in London with Tennant re-enacting his hit pandemic show ‘Staged’ alongside Michael Sheen, the premise being that Sheen wants Tennant to dog-sit his pup Bark Ruffalo on the same night as the BAFTAs.
Tennant tries to pass the dog on to his friends, including Stanley Tucci, Himesh Patel, Tom Hiddleston and Judi Dench. With no one to palm him off on, Tennant turned up in person at the venue with Bark Ruffalo in tow, notes ‘Variety’.
Taking to the stage Tennant joked his monologue was more than three and a half hours long and that the evening was sure to go “smoother than Ken’s chest”, referring to the plastic doll played by Ryan Gosling in the hit...

Claire Foy and Richard E. Grant are set to lead a new period drama directed by Peter Glanz.
Titled “Savage House,” the eighteenth century black comedy also stars Bel Powley (“A Small Light”) and Jack Farthing (“The Lost Daughter”).
Kila Lord Cassidy (“The Wonder”), Richard McCabe (“Napoleon”), Vicki Pepperdine (“Poor Things”) and Pip Torrens (“The Iron Lady”) round out the cast. The film recently wrapped in the U.K.
“Set against the backdrop of eighteenth century England, a massive pox outbreak, and Jacobite uprising – this is a timely and darkly satirical story of Sir Chauncey Savage (Grant) and Lady Savage (Foy) and their blind pursuit of a better life,” reads the logline. “It is not without a tinge of irony that their family name is the Savages, for this is a Savage House indeed. Filled with duels, decadence, and bloodshed, this is a madcap play on class and power.”

Stars: Bryce Dallas Howard, Henry Cavill, Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston, Dua Lipa, Ariana DeBose, Richard E. Grant, John Cena, Tomás Paredes | Written by Jason Fuchs | Directed by Matthew Vaughn
Matthew Vaughn’s Argylle seems to have spilt audiences and critics all over the world. From being branded as over-the-top fun, to the worst film of the year. While it’s neither of them, at times it can be argued that it’s fallen into each argument.
Bryce Dallas Howard plays Elly Conway, an author who has written a series of best-selling spy novels, all of which focus on the heroic action hero, Argylle. We first see agent Argylle in action, played by Henry Cavill, who has, unfortunately, been given the worst haircut ever put to screen. Sporting his dreadful haircut he’s on a mission, one that is filled with over-the-top dialogue and action, and some of the worst CGI you’re likely to see,...

British filmmaker Matthew Vaughn’s helmed a gonzo fantasy with a cross-dressing Robert De Niro, a vigilante superhero flick with a foul-mouthed, killer kid, and a delirious spin on Bond with Colin Firth. But Argylle, his $200 million globe-trotting espionage thriller, has proven to be his most divisive film yet.
The film follows Elly Conway (Bryce Dallas Howard), a novelist/homebody whose series of spy books about Aubrey Argylle (Henry Cavill) have captured the public’s imagination. One day, she encounters an actual superspy, Aidan (Sam Rockwell), on a train who...

This article contains full spoilers for Argylle.
Early in the Matthew Vaughn spy thriller/comedy Argylle, actual secret agent Aiden (Sam Rockwell) needs to calm writer of secret agents Elly Conway (Bryce Dallas Howard). Aiden leans in and calmly tells a story about a mission that required him to scale a tremendous height. Rather than look down, Aiden explains, you just have to look at what’s ahead. “What’s right in front of you, Elly?” he asks, staring directly at the camera.
Argylle might not have the same bratty sense of humor that marked Kick-Ass or Kingsman: The Secret Service, but audiences might feel that Vaughn is trolling them in that scene. For months now, trailers for Argylle have teased an amazing twist, suggesting that the real Agent Argylle is something special, something they are not going to want to miss.
But you would have to be really inattentive to miss the reveal.

In June of 1970, writer Richard Matheson published the short story "Button, Button." It would inspire a radically unique cinematic adaptation as well as several other official and unofficial retellings. One of its central themes is identity. The characters discover, to their horror, that they don't know themselves, let alone those around them.
That theme is a tenet of the spy genre, and it's no surprise why the genre continues to enjoy such rampant popularity despite the Cold War (arguably the most prolific period for espionage) three decades removed. It has become nearly inextricable from the action genre (thanks in large part to James Bond), and also directly addresses the blurring of reality and fiction where cinema excels. After all, what is spycraft but another form of acting? Furthermore, if someone is called upon to pretend to be someone else for a living, it...

Thrilled about working with Vaughn on such a fresh, innovative take on the spy-thriller genre, she said: “What I love about...

Awards season is set to culminate with the 2024 Academy Awards. The nominees were announced earlier this morning, and you can view the full list Here. There were a lot of favorites that many saw as a shoo-in for nominations. Oppenheimer was a heavy favorite to get recognized as the film would collect nominations for Christopher Nolan, Emily Blunt, and Cillian Murphy, and the film itself is now up for the big Best Picture award. With Killers of the Flower Moon receiving much-talked-about hype before the film came out as well as the non-stop praise after its release, it would seem Martin Scorsese would be an obvious nomination for Best Director, and the legendary filmmaker would indeed get the nod as he receives his tenth nomination and surpasses Steven Spielberg’s record.
Barbie was also a favorite this year, as the film stole 2024, with Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, and Greta Gerwig...

Dan Ojari and Mikey Please, the co-writers and co-directors of Aardman Animations’ musical film “Robin Robin,” which premiered on Netflix in November 2021, and was nominated for an Oscar the following year, say that a spinoff is in the cards.
“We are currently working on more stories in the world of ‘Robin, Robin,’” Please tells Variety. “I think that’s all we’re allowed to say. But that would certainly be our hopes and dreams. We feel like there are loads more stories to tell in this world, so we’d love to do more.”
“Robin Robin,” whose voice cast includes Bronte Carmichael, Adeel Akhtar, Gillian Anderson and Richard E. Grant, centers on a robin who is raised by a loving family of burglar mice. As Robin grows up, her differences become more apparent. She sets out to pull off a daring heist in a bid to prove to her family...

There are a host of big-name players in this year’s Best Live Action Short Film Oscar race with Wes Anderson‘s “The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar,” Pedro Almódovar‘s “Strange Way of Life,” and the John Travolta-produced “The Shepherd” all in the mix. But Tom Stuart‘s quirky British short “Good Boy” has a big name (and a big performance) of its own: Ben Whishaw.
The short follows Whishaw as a down-on-his-luck man who tries to turn his life around with the help of his anarchic mum (Marion Bailey) but figures from his past and a bygone tragedy threaten to consume and derail him. The short film blends multiple genres including comedy, drama, and tragedy and it is Whishaw’s powerhouse performance that is propelling this little indie film that could into a race full of the big boys.
Indeed, Whishaw’s performance is the film’s Mvp.

Amazon Prime MGM’s Emerald Fennell gothic romance Saltburn has become a new obsession for Prime Video subscribers, for following its Dec. 22 drop, the movie has easily become one of the streamer’s top 10 worldwide film debuts.
Similar to how the Barry Keoghan-Rosamund Pike-Jacob Elordi-Richard E. Grant and Carey Mulligan ensemble saw an unprecedented hold at the weekend box office post-Thanksgiving, Salburn‘s run on the service reps the highest week-over-week growth for any Prime Video film last year.
Additionally, since its first weekend, Saltburn’s total viewership has grown nearly 4x, fueled by a strong viral marketing campaign and word-of-mouth.
That heat for Saltburn can be witnessed online, one example being SNL’s Chloe Fineman showing off her family’s real-time shock and awe to the movie while watching Keoghan’s Oliver bathtub slurp and graveyard love (viewed by 5.2M) or the Jacob...
