Just take a sneaky peak back on the movies we’ve covered so far on our Arnie Revisited series, and the Austrian Oak had already covered several genres in his rise from bodybuilder to Hollywood icon. Raw Deal and Commando were straight-up action movies, while his work as Conan was an epic mix of action and fantasy. You can even argue that The Terminator is a classic 80s slasher flick, and not simply the revolutionary sci-fi masterpiece it’s generally regarded as. However, he hadn’t managed to blend both horror and science fiction in any of his previous movies, in the way he did with the film we’re focusing on in today’s episode – Predator. It was such a huge success for both star and franchise that it not only helped to further cement Arnie as a Hollywood icon, but also created a franchise packed with sequels, a prequel,...

To say the Terminator timeline is pretty confusing at this point would be an understatement. The franchise, created with the release of James Cameron's seminal 1984 effort "The Terminator," has since been softly rebooted, retconned, and generally mishandled by successive generations of studios and filmmakers. So twisted is the saga's internal timeline that watching the "Terminator" movies in any kind of coherent order has become a challenge not unlike trying to destroy the T-800 himself.
Prior to the release of 2019's "Terminator: Dark Fate," things seemed to be looking up. With the help of James Cameron on producing duties, director Tim Miller decided to forget the three lackluster films that followed the modern classic that is 1991's "Terminator 2: Judgement Day" and simply pick up where that stellar entry in the franchise left off. Unfortunately, when "Dark Fate" debuted we were treated to yet another generic action blockbuster that put...

With films like The Shining and 2001: A Space Odyssey, Stanley Kubrick’s legacy will live on for centuries to come. During his life and even after his death in 1999, he’s widely considered one of the greatest filmmakers to have ever graced the film industry with his talent. But even a man of his caliber had to have been a fan of someone, and that “someone” for Stanley Kubrick was none other than James Cameron.
Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining (1980)
James Cameron has been responsible for helming some of the most unforgettable and successful films in Hollywood. Therefore, it makes sense that Stanley Kubrick would be in awe of some of his work, and the feeling was mutual between the directors. When James Cameron decided to give himself a birthday present by meeting Stanley Kubrick, he was shocked to learn just how much of a True Lies fan he was.

Donald Trump’s criminal hush money trial kicked off this week with witness testimony from media honcho David Pecker, who said that the former president was well aware of the catch-and-kill scheme and even thanked Pecker for his help in hiding two potentially “damaging” stories. The former American Media Inc. Chairman and CEO set the stage for the rest of the trial, giving a chronological overview of how he was brought into a meeting with Trump and his former fixer Michael Cohen at Trump Tower in August 2015, two months after...

Former President Donald Trump’s hush money trial reached the end of its second week as the prosecution’s first witness, former National Enquirer publisher David Pecker, returned to the stand on Friday.
Defense attorneys sought to challenge Pecker’s narrative of Trump’s alleged involvement in suppressing “embarrassing” stories in the 2016 campaign.
Throughout the week, Pecker testified that Trump and his then-lawyer, Michael Cohen, had requested him to serve as their “eyes and ears” and uncover whatever salacious stories could harm Trump’s candidacy. Pecker also said that he was asked to publish negative stories about Trump’s opponents. In cross-examination, Trump’s attorney, Emil Bove, aimed to undermine Pecker’s credibility and highlighted instances in which he had mixed up dates and suggested that the passage of time could affect his memory.

Over three days of testimony this week, Donald Trump’s hush money trial in Manhattan has spawned subplots inside and outside the courtroom.
With a decision on one contempt motion pending, Judge Juan Merchan has scheduled a hearing on Thursday for prosecutors to argue that Trump has committed more violations of the judge’s gag order against disparaging or intimidating witnesses, jurors and other trial participants.
At the first contempt hearing on Tuesday, prosecutors sought fines for ten Trump online posts blasting witnesses Stormy Daniels and Michael Cohen and calling prospective jurors “liberal activists.” Assistant Manhattan District Attorney Chris Conroy said that next week’s hearing will cover four more alleged gag-order violations.
The last was at a construction site in Midtown Manhattan on Thursday where Trump visited with workers before heading to court. There, Trump talked about the prosecution’s first witness, David Pecker, the former CEO of National Enquirer publisher American Media,...

Said to be a mix of Top Gun and Back To The Future, T-Minus will be an expensive-sounding action thriller based on a Philip K Dick short story. Michael B Jordan will co-produce.
Michael B Jordan, who’s currently working with Ryan Coogler on his currently untitled horror movie, now has another major project in the works. Called T-Minus, it’ll be produced by Jordan through his company, Outlier Society, in partnership with Amazon MGM Studios.
The script will be co-written by Drew Pearce, who wrote the upcoming The Fall Guy, and Nick Cuse, writer of TV’s Watchmen and Masters Of The Air.
What’s really intriguing about T-Minus – for this writer at least – is that it’s based on a Philip K Dick short story, A Little Something For Us Tempunauts.
First published in 1974, it’s about three time travellers (the Tempunauts of the title) whose mission to...

It was thanks in part to Arnold Schwarzenegger that the former publisher of the National Enquirer knew he could get in trouble for the tabloid’s catch-and-kill policy and buying off salacious stories about Donald Trump.
Over objections from Trump’s defense team, ex-American Media CEO David Pecker poignantly Thursday told the judge, jurors, Trump himself and everyone else in a packed Manhattan courtroom he was aware he was violating election law in 2016 when he secretly bought Playboy playmate Karen McDougal’s story of an affair with Trump for $150,000. Admitting the purchase was entirely to kill the story, Pecker said that the primary purpose behind the payoff and others in a similar vein was to help the then-Celebrity Apprentice host’s presidential campaign.
Such tactics were nothing new for Pecker.

Sylvester Stallone’s underdog story and meteoric rise as a Hollywood star have long been talked about over the years. The actor had to make a lot of sacrifices to make sure that Hollywood took notice of him and his script for Rocky. With no acting godfather by his side, his struggle paid off greatly, as Rocky has become his signature role and franchise that he is popularly known for.
Sylvester Stallone wrote and played the lead in 1976’s Rocky
In his long and illustrious career, Stallone has never played a gangster and was never approached by filmmakers for it. That changed when Taylor Sheridan came to him for Tulsa King. The two shared many things and were friends long before the project came to fruition. Stallone found many similarities between Sheridan’s career and his and this formed a deep connection between them.

As two titans of Tinseltown in the 1980s and early 1990s, Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger found ideal rivals in one another and grew so competitive that the Hollywood heroes resorted to Machiavellian tactics to gain status as the world’s top action star, they revealed on Tuesday in a televised interview from TMZ.
The septuagenarian stars, who are now close friends, sat down for an hourlong primetime special called TMZ Presents: Arnold & Sly: Rivals, Friends, Icons, which debuted on Fox on Tuesday at 8 p.m. Et. With TMZ founder Harvey Levin taking on the interviewing honors, the two action flick legends discussed some revealing details of their past rivalry, the troubled childhoods both say they’ve overcome and the faces they’d place alongside their own on a hypothetical Mount Rushmore for action heroes.

Jerry Bruckheimer has nothing but praise for Bruce Willis when looking back at filming the 1998 blockbuster Armageddon, which Bruckheimer produced.
The legendary producer told People magazine, in an interview published Tuesday, that the Die Hard star was extremely kind to everyone working on the film set, especially the crew members.
“Bruce is such a good guy,” he said. “He was so generous to the crew.”
Bruckheimer specifically remembered Willis, who he called a “giving guy,” always contributing to cash giveaways for the crew at the end of each week.
“They’d have drawings, and he’d throw a lot of money in the hat, and the crew members would always take away some nice extra cash at the end of the week, whoever won,” the Top Gun: Maverick producer added.

Super-producer Jerry Bruckheimer recently told People magazine that Bruce Willis was so generous on the set of their 1998 blockbuster “Armageddon” that he gave money away to the crew to make sure people had some “nice extra cash at the end of the week.” Willis headlined the Michael Bay-directed film opposite Billy Bob Thornton, Liv Tyler and Ben Affleck.
“Bruce is such a good guy,” Bruckheimer said. “He was so generous to the crew. They’d have [cash giveaway] drawings, and he’d throw a lot of money in the hat, and the crew members would always take away some nice extra cash at the end of the week, whoever won.”
Bruckheimer called Willis a “giving guy” and a “good friend.” Apparently the “Armageddon” crew had a weekly cash pot going at the end of each week of production. Willis made sure to increase the jackpot with his own money to make the reward that much greater.

Franco Columbu, the Italian bodybuilding prodigy, and the legendary Arnold Schwarzenegger forged a close friendship. The two dealt with everything after meeting in 1965, sticking by one another through good times and bad. But they each brought unique personalities to the table.
If boxing was Columbu’s background, then soccer was Schwarzenegger’s. In spite of this, their shared love of ‘bodybuilding’ served as the foundation for their friendship. Here’s an intriguing anecdote, though: Columbu trained Schwarzenegger’s fellow Hollywood veteran actor, Sylvester Stallone, for the film Rocky II.
Sylvester Stallone in Rocky films
When Franco challenged Stallone to a bench press competition, the actor accepted, but not before the latter tore his pec off the bone. This is where things got tricky. The injury happened 1.5 months before Stallone was supposed to appear and helm the Rocky sequel.
Well, you must hear him discuss how he turned the tide of events!

The Running Man (1987) was one of Stephen King's earliest books. In a dystopian version of America's future, an impoverished family man named Ben Richards struggles to deal with unemployment and his daughter's mounting medical bills. In desperation, Richards signs up to be on 'The Running Man', a reality show where contestants try to evade highly trained killers. For every hour that they survive, they earn money. If they manage to live for 30 days, they win 1 billion dollars.
Richards has no hope of winning – he's just your average guy, without the physical prowess it will take to outrun and outfight his pursuers. He knows that competing on the show will kill him, but he hopes to live long enough to earn the money it will take to save his family.
Some Major Changes
Five years after the publication of The Running Man, the book was adapted for the big screen.

For most directors, the art of filmmaking is an experience worth its weight in creative calories. For Alan Taylor, it was instead a harrowing one better left forgotten or chalked up as a bad dream. In hindsight, Thor: The Dark World wasn’t just a director’s worst nightmare but an agonizing ordeal for the audience who had to suffer through 112 minutes of a rotten piece of film that had no business existing within the realm of cinema.
Thor: The Dark World [Credit: Marvel Studios]In the later years, Taylor himself picked apart his Marvel project, proving there was no love lost between him and the Nordic God. But even Chris Hemsworth’s best efforts to preserve the sanctity of his leading role and Tom Hiddleston lending his Shakespearean expertise to the film’s drab plot couldn’t help make the final product any less painful for the Marvel fans.

Terminator 2: Judgment Day is one of the best Arnold Schwarzenegger movies of all time. The science-fiction tale has over the years become a cult classic, drawing a new generation of audience every year. Starring as T-800, it was also this role that helped Schwarzenegger climb the mountain of fame and acclaim and become a Hollywood star.
A still from Terminator 2: Judgement Day
Starring as the android in 5 of the 6 movies released, the future for Schwarzenegger’s Terminator franchise would have been vastly different had the original ending for Judgment Day been released. Featuring Linda Hamilton, the ending would have effectively ended the franchise, yet fans reckon it would have been perfect.

Predator Movie – John McTiernan. (Photo Credit – IMDb/Wikipedia)
When it comes to power-packed action thriller movies, weapons are mandatorily used. Guns are widely used in such movies, especially in Hollywood. A few days ago, James Cameron commented on using too many guns for The Terminator. The Avatar director said he would not do something like this in today’s time. Now, Predator director John McTiernan has revealed details about using too many guns in one of the scenes in his 1987 movie.
The sci-fi action thriller stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as Major Alan ‘Dutch’Schaefer, Carl Weathers as Al Dillon, Elpidia Carrillo as Anna Gonsalves, Bill Duke as Master Sergeant Mac Eliot and others. In a scene where Arnold’s Dutch and others take revenge for the death of Jesse Ventura’s character, Blain, there’s a lot of gun firing that takes place. Director Robert Eggers (The Lighthouse & The Northman) made a name for himself with The Witch, a film that most directors would be proud to have on their résumé, especially as their first feature-length production.
In the same vein, as artists in any discipline are often especially critical of their earlier work, Eggers also admitted that he did not want to watch this 2015 horror movie. The Witch, the full-length feature debut of the New York City-born director, turned out to be one of his incredible works. The story revolved around a family of New England Puritans in the 1630s.
Anya Taylor-Joy in Robert Eggers’ The Witch
After receiving positive reviews from critics and grossing $40 million, the film went on to become a critical and commercial success. Nonetheless, Eggers is the one who is unable to stand the movie, which starred Anya Taylor-Joy, Ralph Ineson, and Kate Dickie.

Saturday Night Live skits have given us some of the funniest and most enjoyable movies of their eras. Ok, there aren’t many – we’re really mostly talking about The Blues Brothers, the Wayne’s World double feature and MacGruber – but what’s there is choice comedy. On the other side, we have crap like It’s Pat, The Ladies Man and Stuart Saves His Family, all proving that just because something works for five minutes doesn’t mean it can sustain 90. Take another recurring skit, Debbie Downer, for another example, who Rachel Dratch turned into a signature character in more than a half-dozen appearances. Thankfully such a movie never happened – something that Dratch is perfectly fine with.
Speaking with ComicBook.com, Rachel Dratch recognized that while the character stands as one of her greatest contributions to SNL, she just wouldn’t have the legs to make it on the big screen.

Nicolas Cage has showcased through his extreme performances that he can embody just about any character, be it a hero or a villain, as efficiently and intensely as possible. That said, it’s worth noticing that while his remarkable acting skills have also granted him the golden ticket into two of the biggest franchises in Hollywood, he has only been cast in heroic and anti-heroic roles.
Nicolas Cage in Dream Scenario.
While he has absolutely nailed it as all of those characters, the truth is that Cage actually wants to play one forgotten nemesis of Batman who has only ever been played by the late Vincent Price in the late 1960s: Egghead. What’s more, he wants to play the character in Matt Reeves’ franchise of the Dark Knight, and has let his feelings known to Warner Bros. about the same as well!

Former President Bill Clinton is debuting a new video today in which he reflects on the anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing, warning of the threat that toxic political discourse has on democracy.
The video is part of an “Explainer-in-Chief” series that Clinton is doing with Attn:, the Candle Media division that publishes content fusing entertainment and topical issues.
The bombing, which killed 168 people, took place 29 years ago today. “For every president there are certain days in your presidency you will never forget,” Clinton says in the video. “April 19, 1995, the day of the largest domestic terrorist attack in U.S. history is one of those days for me.”
“In the aftermath of the Oklahoma city bombing, I knew that we had a responsibility to do everything we could to ensure that something like this would never happen again,” Clinton says. “But perhaps an even greater responsibility was to urge people...

The pun-packed, Arnie-starring original that strayed wildly from Stephen King’s book is one trashy 80s sci-fi romp that could actually benefit from a remake
Why bother remaking much-loved 80s and 90s science fiction movies? Frankly it never ends well. Len Wiseman’s 2012 reworking of Total Recall, with a baffled-looking Colin Farrell taking over from Arnold Schwarzenegger as the amnesiac dreamer of futuristic secret agent dreams, struggled to capture the bombast of the superbly trashy Paul Verhoeven original, and never even made it to mutant-heavy Mars. The maverick Dutch director’s 1987 version of RoboCop is a gloriously effective corporate satire masquerading as an all-guns-blazing actioner, but its 2014 remake from José Padilha (despite a stellar cast) seemed to smooth off all those rough, wonderfully stop-motion fuelled sci-fi edges and somehow lose something in the process.
How, then, should we greet the news that another of Arnie’s nutty sci-fi romps, 1987’s The Running Man,...

The Transformers franchise has covered so much ground since hitting the big screen in 2007, including planet-eating monsters, dino-bots, and a slew of heavy-handed Michael Bay-approved explosions. Now, they’ve entered a new frontier, with the trailer for Transformers One becoming the first movie trailer to debut in space.
The event kicked off early this morning with a live-streamed countdown showing the one-hour journey into space. When the craft reached its peak above Earth at 125,000 feet, the trailer was revealed, with an introduction from its stars Chris Hemsworth and Brian Tyree Henry.
As the origin story for the robots and beasts at the heart of the franchise, Transformers One is set to be the first-ever fully CG-animated Transformers movie. Hemsworth and Henry are joined by Scarlett Johansson, Keegan-Michael Key, Steve Buscemi, Laurence Fishburne, and Jon Hamm, and the project was executive produced by Steven Spielberg. From the moment the film was announced a year ago, “Abigail” has been marketed as a remake of “Dracula’s Daughter,” the 1936 Universal Pictures curio. So it’s no spoiler to say that the title character of “Abigail” is…Dracula’s daughter. Yet if you went in not knowing that, it might be the only real surprise in the movie, apart from what a brutally monotonous blood-vomiting genre mashup it is.
For a while, we think we’re watching a standard kidnap thriller. It opens with Abigail (Alisha Weir), who is 12, on the ballet stage rehearsing “Swan Lake,” a most definite vampire homage, since Tchaikovsky’s gorgeous heart-swelling score is the same music that played over the opening credits of the 1931 Bela Lugosi “Dracula.” That lyrical entré ends in about three minutes, as the kidnappers, all overstated profane synthetic crudeness, jam themselves into a van and abscond with Abigail, who they...

Last April, Jason Kelce entered the NFL’s West Coast media hub in Inglewood, California (it’s right next door to SoFi Stadium), with trepidation. In an otherwise nondescript conference room, Kelce talked with those sitting with him about the difficulties that NFL stars can have after they retire from the game, an attendee recalls.
Kelce was in Los Angeles to attend the NFL’s broadcast boot camp, which gives players a chance to hone their skills for TV, radio, podcasts and other mediums.
“So many guys are interested in, ‘How can I stay in football?’ ‘I think I’d be good on TV, but I’m not really sure,’ ” Tracy Perlman, the NFL’s senior vp player operations, told The Hollywood Reporter at the time about the boot camp. “So this gives them the opportunity to learn about it and understand the commitment it takes, and it gives them the reps to figure out,...

Peter Weller has been in some of the most acclaimed films of the 80s and 90s. He starred in Buckaroo Banzai, Mighty Aphrodite, The New Age, and Naked Lunch. In the 2000s and 2010s, he played Christopher Henderson and Stan Liddy in the fifth seasons of 24 and Dexter respectively. In film, he most popularly appeared as Alexander Marcus in 2013’s Star Trek Into Darkness.

The ultra-charming and very handsome actor Glen Powell is having quite a run right now, but my dude is far from an overnight success. His first role was as "Long-fingered Boy" in Robert Rodriguez's "Spy Kids 3" more than 20 years ago, and since then, he's been steadily building his way to stardom. Small roles in "The Great Debaters," "The Dark Knight Rises," and "The Expendables 3" laid the groundwork for his star-making, charisma-filled performance in 2016's "Everybody Wants Some!!" In 2018, he helped resurrect the rom-com with the one-two punch of Netflix films "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society" (a delightful and underrated gem) and the more popular "Set It Up" opposite Zoey Deutch, which launched him to Internet Boyfriend status.

Olivia Williams has given acclaimed performances in “Rushmore,” “The Sixth Sense” and “An Education.” She recently appeared as Camilla Parker Bowles in the final two seasons of Netflix’s popular drama series “The Crown.” But for many people, the British actor will always be Felicity from the Season 4 finale of “Friends.” Williams once called guest starring on the NBC sitcom “harrowing,” and she recently opened up to The Independent about the reasons why it wasn’t the best experience in a recent interview.
“Gosh. Well, just as an example, I was taken to the studio in a shared car with a wonderful actress whose character, I think, was called ‘Old Woman’,” Williams said, noting this actor was “distinguished” and “very good” but “at one point, a producer – who shall remain nameless – just yelled at her: ‘You’re not funny!’ And she didn’t come back the next day. So that was alarming.

Helldivers 2 has been out for about three months and in that time, we have seen plenty of new and interesting content, from mission types, weapons, and stratagems.
The community achieved a major milestone when they defeated the Automaton army and had their hopes swiftly dashed a few days later when they returned. Helldivers 2 is still going strong and has daily player counts in the hundreds of thousands and the speculations of crossovers are all around.
We’re Yet to See Confirmation of Franchise Crossovers
Crossovers in Helldivers 2 would make the game a much more strong contender for Goty.
There is one thing though that we have not yet seen added to the game that would surely boost the popularity of the game even further, franchise crossovers. In an interview with Cgm, Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt was asked about the possibility of guest characters from the game’s major inspirations making appearances.

Sylvester Stallone's "Rambo" movies might not be as beloved as his "Rocky" films, but they've had just as fascinating a trajectory. What's more, they've been incredibly influential in the history of action movies, charting the general evolution of the genre across four decades. If you want to get an insight into the state of action filmmaking at a certain time, "Rambo" films are a good gauge.
"First Blood," the inaugural "Rambo" film, was noteworthy for blending what are now well-known action tropes with an attempt at exploring the very real issue of Ptsd in the context of the Vietnam War. Stallone's John J. Rambo was introduced as a former United States Army Special Forces officer who despite his preternatural combat skills was haunted by his experiences overseas. Following that, the character of Rambo underwent somewhat of a transformation throughout the '80s, becoming the epitome of the muscle-bound,...
