Bob, Junior and Larry
VeggieTales has run for 20 years with 48 half-feature-length home video movies and 2 theatrical releases of Jonah and The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything. VeggieTales is a strange series that has its characters be actors who play characters in stories from the Bible and spoofs of other popular media like Indiana Jones and Lord of the Rings, although there are some stories where they do not play other characters (LarryBoy/Incredible Vegetables do not really count when they are still the same characters out of their superhero costume). From December 21, 1993 to October 14, 2014, creators Phil Vischer and Mike Nawrocki and music composer Lisa Pautz had a lot of fun teaching us important life lessons about handling fear, forgiveness, obeying God, and sharing. Phil voices Bob the Tomato, Lisa voices Lisa Junior the Asparagus, and Mike voices Larry the Cucumber. The more I watch Lisa Junior, the more I know that Lisa Vischer is the best voice actress in VeggieTales. Phil Vischer is also a great actor because apart from Bob, he voices other major characters who had a multitude of lead roles in other stories. In the 4 videos without Bob, he has voiced Jimmy and Archibald in The End of Silliness, Archibald in The Rumor Weed, and Mr. Lunt and Pa Grape in Esther, the Girl Who Became Queen, The Ultimate Silly Song Countdown, and The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything: A VeggieTales Movie, which gave Bob a cameo at the end as the director.
Bob and Larry host most of the Tales and Junior is the main kid who learns a lot of these important lessons and gets the most kid parts in stories. I would complain about Laura the Carrot, the most appearing girl kid, not having as many appearances as Junior, the boy, and Laura's voice actress changing on a whim after several shows since she had 5 actors in 20 years, but since Junior's actress is female, I rationalized that Lisa may represent both genders of kids somehow because Junior is (ahem) a boy with a girly voice. If this helps Laura fans, Duke and the Great Pie War and The Princess and the Popstar both have great stories focusing on Laura, and she has a much bigger part than Junior in The Penniless Princess (+ the Silly Song with Papaya) and Celery Night Fever. Some viewers mistake Junior for a girl, but she is a boy. His parents' names are Mike and Lisa, but few can say for sure which name Junior really has when he sounds like a girl. Even though Bob normally leads the Countertop segments, most of the leading parts in stories go to Larry, Junior, Alfred or Petunia. Bob/Phil Vischer is the teacher & straight man, while Larry/Mike Nawrocki is the do-er & goofy guy who makes things happen. As is the case with imdb, I thought it would be interesting to see what films each of them appeared in and how often they are used (Silly Songs excluded). Junior's first absence was in Esther, while the only 2 episodes without Bob, The Rumor Weed and Esther, had no countertop, so now Larry is the only character in all 48 episodes.

I like to think that Rack, Shack and Benny is a spiritual successor to The Nightmare Before Christmas because Phil Vischer based his Mr. Nezzer voice on Ken Page's Oogie Boogie, and that film came out 2 months before the first VeggieTale, which was also about how to handle scary things. - DirectorPhil VischerMike NawrockiStarsPhil VischerMike NawrockiChris OlsenThe Biblical story of David and Goliath, with a cast of vegetables.April 2, 1996

Most voted-on pre-Jonah episode
I think that when Larry mentioned a polish person named Oscar that he met in a lip rehab clinic, that could be the same Oscar we later saw with him in the silly songs from Duke and the Great Pie War, and Merry Larry and the True Light of Christmas.
Note: Even though TV broadcasts of VeggieTales videos were on Bob's house, the two scenes of the story that cut back to the countertop with Bob explaining things to LarryBoy were kept intact. The same also goes for when Bob reads A Snoodle's Tale to us. - DirectorChris OlsenPhil VischerMike NawrockiStarsDan AndersonLesley BenodinKristin BlegenThe town of Dinkletown is spoiled by Mr. Nezzer's toy company, because Mr. Nezzer convinced everyone that Christmas is when you get stuff. First episode with no Countertop Intro (the VeggieTales Christmas Spectacular on Ion would be this episode's replacement Countertop scenes)
The Toy That Saved Christmas seems to be a sequel to Rack, Shack and Benny, as they both have George narrating the story, Bob, Junior and Larry are the three protagonists, Wally P. Nezzer is Nebby K. Nezzer's brother, and Mr. Lunt directly refers back to Nebby when he says "You mean the one with the chocolate factory that I used to work for?" However, it is a bit confusing when Bob, Junior and Larry have different names in Rack, Shack and Benny than they have in The Toy That Saved Christmas.
In 1998, 1999 and 2000, this show was broadcast on Ion with as the VeggieTales Christmas Spectacular. Other characters would join in to perform songs and 11 minutes and 50 seconds of new material were animated for it before and after we saw The Toy That Saved Christmas + the Oh Santa Silly Song from 1996. In this full-hour TV broadcast, Larry's Silly Song came before the main story instead of in the middle. - DirectorMike NawrockiChris OlsenPhil VischerStarsDan AndersonG. The setting is 1880s London, and they've written a musical called "The Princess and the Plumber", which they plan to open on Christmas Eve. Cavis thinks the production will "teach London how to love". But children at nearby St. Bart's Church are planning a nativity play for the same evening, and they plan to feature the Star of Christmas, a religious artifact unseen by the public for decades. The London Post Gazette writes a front-page story about the nativity play and the Star, and Cavis and Millward hatch a plan to make their musical better than the children's play. The Star of Christmas and An Easter Carol are set 120 years before they originally came out, in 1882 and 1884 London. Frankly, we don't know. But Larry the Cucumber is pretty sure it involves an automated set from the future, singing robotic children and some of your favorite veggies performing bizarre renditions of classic songs like "Zaccheus," "Hole in the Bottom of the Sea" and Gilbert & Sullivan's "Modern Major General." This is no ordinary VeggieTale. It is a vastly different episode about what Larry believes is the future of kids' music-based entertainment. Somehow, the sequel to The Star of Christmas became a story that was the Easter equivalent of A Christmas Carol. Winnie the Pooh also did this Easter Carol formula a bit more subtly near the same time with a film titled Springtime With Roo, in which Tigger took Rabbit to the past (through the pages of the book they were in), Rabbit saw Roo in the present, and the narrator showed Rabbit the future when his meanness got everyone to leave the Hundred-Acre Wood. Hey, is it just me, or does this story feature a different Laura than the one from The Star of Christmas? Because Laura sounded British in An Easter Carol and not British in The Star of Christmas. - DirectorMike NawrockiMarc VulcanoStarsMike NawrockiJim PoolePhil VischerAfter returning home from what was supposed to be a Danish-immersion camp, Larry the Cucumber meets up with Bob the Tomato for a series of sketches dealing with self-esteem, along with a Silly Song segment. In the first, "The Strange Case of Dr. Jiggle and Mr. Sly," Scooter the Carrot and Larry investigate the appearances of a flashy, disco-dancing gourd in the dark streets of London. Then Larry and a female friend team up for the Silly Song "Sport Utility Vehicle," which pokes fun at preppy SUV owners who dream of using their rugged vehicles for more than just trips to the doughnut shop. After the song, the title segment follows (in Dr. Seuss-style rhyming verse) the morality tale of a winged creature called a Snoodle, who learns his true self-worth during a mountaintop journey. As a special bonus, the similarly-Seussian "The Story of Flibber-o-loo," from "VeggieTales: Are You My Neighbor (1999) (V)", ends the video.May 18, 2004

Beginning of Season 3
Shortly after Lord of the Beans was released, Phil Vischer had a cease-and-desist notice for New Line Cinema for "illegally" parodying Lord of the Rings. Parodies are not illegal by nature, but my guess is that Lord of the Beans was illegal because he followed the storyline of the film too closely without really making fun of it or changing the context of things, which was fortunately not the case for The Wonderful Wizard of Ha's, in which production was delayed so as a spoof story, it would not be illegally close to the tone of the film it was parodying again.
