- DirectorDouglas CamfieldStarsTom BakerElisabeth SladenTony BeckleyMembers of the World Ecology Bureau discover a centuries-old seed pod buried deep in Antarctica's permafrost. It seems to be still alive, growing without soil. They transmit a photo to London where Richard Dunbar of the W.E.B. shares it with the Doctor. Wary of what it might be, the Doctor immediately flies down with Sarah. They don't know that Dunbar is a leak in the bureau and has tipped off the discovery to a rich plant fanatic named Harrison Chase. Chase sends a thug and a plant expert down to verify the discovery and fetch it back by any means possible. But before anyone arrives, the pod hatches and the tendril-like life form within attaches itself to one of the men, turning him green. It's as The Doctor feared: they're dealing with a Krynoid.
- DirectorDouglas CamfieldStarsTom BakerElisabeth SladenTony BeckleyWith a killer Krynoid on the loose, the Doctor, Sarah and the last surviving member of the expedition concentrate on hunting it down, unmindful of Chase's men who, once they learn of the second Krynoid pod (which always travel through space in pairs), work to obtain it and eliminate all possible witnesses.
- DirectorDouglas CamfieldStarsTom BakerElisabeth SladenTony BeckleySurviving two attempts to end their lives, the Doctor and Sarah seek the identity of the plant fanatic who ordered the hit on the arctic base, pursuing their only lead - a commissioned painting of a rare flower left in the boot of a car. Chase, meanwhile, is doing all he can to encourage the hatching of the Krynoid pod.
- DirectorDouglas CamfieldStarsTom BakerElisabeth SladenTony BeckleySarah is saved from a Krynoid fate and runs off, but the same can't be said for one of Chase's men. Not only is he simultaneously devoured and transformed, his fascinated employer will do all he can to encourage the process. The Doctor gets introduced to Chase's grinder and compost acceleration chamber, which promises him a painful yet swift death en route to making him one with nature, via the garden's nutrient pump. The situation has finally gone too far for Dunbar, who outs his own involvement in this matter and stands up to Chase, only to come face to face with a fully developed Krynoid.
- DirectorDouglas CamfieldStarsTom BakerElisabeth SladenTony BeckleyIn the interest in self-preservation, Chase's men side with The Doctor against the Krynoid, but the Krynoid - now bigger than the Chase Mansion - invites The Doctor to join it, promising to leave the others alone if he does. People within a mile of the Chase Estate, however, start getting strangled by their plants, while Chase, snapping photos of the Krynoid, has a significant one-on-one encounter with it.
- DirectorDouglas CamfieldStarsTom BakerElisabeth SladenTony BeckleyChase is obviously under Krynoid control. The Doctor suspects possession but, with the mountainous Krynoid nearing maturity and whacking the mansion to pieces, he concerns himself with the bigger picture and orders the mansion - with Sarah and him still inside - to be bombed.
- DirectorPeter MoffattStarsColin BakerPatrick TroughtonNicola BryantThe Time Lords have dispatched the Doctor (in his 2nd incarnation) along with Jamie to a space research station to see Dastari, the Director of Projects, about dissuading two of his scientists from further experimentations on time travel that are rattling the fabric of time. The Doctor is further alarmed over Dastari's latest genetic experiments, boosting the intelligence of a bestial and carnivorous humanoid race called the Androgum. This secondary concern soon proves the greater problem: the Androgum have sided with the Sontarans to take over the station. The station soon falls and the Doctor is captured and tortured. As his life becomes threatened, elsewhere the Doctor (in his 6th incarnation) passes out while on holiday with Peri - his very existence jeopardized.
- DirectorPeter MoffattStarsColin BakerPatrick TroughtonNicola BryantWith carnage and decay all about the space station, Doctor No. 6 and Peri continue to avoid the automated defense system trying to kill them, but there's also something alive lurking about with an eye on them as well. Evidence suggests the Time Lords are responsible for all this, but the Doctor refuses to believe it. He may be wrong, and he also fears a pinhole has been poked into the bubble that is the universe, with total and unstoppable annihilation to follow. Far away, Doctor No. 2 is about to be dissected by the Sontarans and the Androgum in order to find the symbiotic nuclei that makes time travel for Time Lords possible.
- DirectorPeter MoffattStarsColin BakerPatrick TroughtonNicola BryantClosing in on the goal of time travel, the Androgum and Sontarans get set to double-cross each other. With Peri and Jamie alternately in danger of winding up on the bill of fare, the decision is made to genetically transform Doctor No. 2 into an insatiably carnivorous Androgum, which causes Doctor No. 6 to develop a sudden taste for house cats as he races to not let this change become permanent.

What with The Happiness Patrol, undercover snoop Silas P, and Helen A's carnivorous little pet Fifi to contend with, they can do with all the help they can get, joining forces with Earl Sigma, rogue Happiness Patrol member Susan Q and the native inhabitants of Terra Alpha who were driven into the pipes and sewers of the colony. There is one threat that the Doctor hasn't banked on - Helen A's prized chief executioner, a crazed android and creator of killer confectionery. This robotic menace is known only as The Kandy Man, and he's not one to be trifled with.
