Fall TV: Cliffhanger Catch-Up8 of 10
"Once Upon a Time"
Season 5 ended with Regina Mills' (Lana Parilla) using Dr. Jekyll's (Hank Harris ) serum to separate herself from the Evil Queen then attempting to crush her evil side for good. But it didn't quite work. The finale showed the Evil Queen ripping out the Dragon’s (Tzi Ma) heart and declaring that she's back. She also declared "war." So, that will certainly be an issue in Season 6. Meanwhile, Mr. Hyde (Sam Witwer) is in Storybrooke, and he brought some friends from the Land of Untold Stories. Mr. Gold (Robert Carlyle) gave Hyde ownership of the town in exchange for intel on how to wake Belle (Emilie de Ravin) from her sleeping curse. Season 6 premieres Sept. 25 on ABC, and the new characters arriving include Aladdin, Jafar, Princess Jasmine, the Count of Monte Cristo, and Morpheus. Showrunners Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis teased that Season 6 would have a format change, with one 22-episode story rather than breaking it up into one focus for the first half then a brand new one in the second half. As Kitsis told Entertainment Weekly, “We are changing around what we're doing this year and going back to that Season 1 mentality of small town stories and smaller arcs."
