Chappelle's Syndrome
A term I've coined for a trend in Comedy Central programming, where a comedian who is then hot property (or occasionally a has-been) is given a Comedy Central series that lasts for at most a season (two if they're lucky). Shortly thereafter, their popularity will have died down. Most of these shows downplay the strengths of the actual hosting comedian and are often copycats of previously successful programming such as Chappelle's Show and The Daily Show.
