2017 BAFTA Nominations Snubs and Surprises2 of 11
Surprise: Nocturnal Animals racked up an impressive nine nominations, putting it in second place in the BAFTA race alongside Arrival, despite taking just $3.7 million at the UK box office when it was released there in December. This included a best supporting actor nod for Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who was a surprise win at the Golden Globes, and a best director nomination for Tom Ford, over the likes of Denzel Washington for Fences and Pablo Larrain for Jackie.
