- DirectorRajkumar SantoshiStarsSunny DeolAmrish PuriMeenakshi SheshadriAjay Mehra, an amateur boxer, takes revenge against Balwant Rai, a crooked businessman, after his elder brother is killed. In my opinion, this is Sunny Deol's best film. It's a very hard-hitting movie with superb drama, emotional and action. Typically the story is revenge saga like most 90s movies but a lot corruption is shown in this which is one of the reasons why screenplay in mind-blowing. Most importantly, powerful performance from Sunny Paaji who was born to play the role of Arjun Mehra. No actor could have matched his performance in terms of dialogue delivery.
He had so many good dialogues in this film but this one was memorable ''Jakh marti hai police, utaar kar phenk do yeh vardi aur pehan lo Balwant Rai ka patta apne gale mein'' ...
Ghayal has so much repeat value hence why it has the second re-runs in Indian Cinema after Sholay. - DirectorJ.P. DuttaStarsSunny DeolSuniel ShettyAkshaye KhannaIn 1971, along the border region of Longewala, a small battalion of Indian soldiers goes up against a large Pakistani strike force.I've seen many patriotic movies in Indian Cinema but nothing beats Border. It's a very touching story about these brave Indian soldiers fighting for their country.
--
I think Border is Sunny Deol's second-best film in my opinion as I prefer Ghayal the most. Such a great script and powerful roles from Sunny Deol, Suniel Shetty & Akshaye Khanna, respectively.
Not to mention, those powerful dialogues as well from Sunny Paaji e.g. ''Isse pehle ki main tujhe gaddar karaar dekar goli maar doon ... bhag ja yahan se''
Border was All Time Blockbuster and Highest Grossing of the Year in 1997. - DirectorRaj KanwarStarsSunny DeolKarisma KapoorSalman KhanA hitman working for a crime boss falls for a woman but she is married off to her childhood friend. Later, when the woman's and her husband's life comes under threat from the crime boss, the hitman becomes their protector.Jeet was my childhood film growing up in the 90s era when I was four years old at that time. I recall my family renting this movie out for me because I was an action junkie.
--
I think Jeet is one of the best Action/Romance movie ever made if you combine both genres together. It's a very gripping film with a good love triangle but Sunny Deol is terrific. His eyes, voice and dialogues are fantastic. It's a known fact that Sunny Deol dominated the action genre in the 90s in which his movie did good business with single-screen audience. Jeet is a good example hence it was Super Hit at the Box Office. - DirectorRajkumar SantoshiStarsSunny DeolMeenakshi SheshadriDanny DenzongpaUnable to witness the injustice and brutality inflict on the residents by a tyrannical gangster, Katya, in a small Indian village in India; Kashinath alias Kashi decides to single-handily take a stand to fight for his and the villagers rights. What follows is a series of violence and unlawful activities which not only endanger the life of those very villagers but also that of Kashi's love ones. This movie was delayed for years but still, it got a great response from the audiences. I think it's a mind-blowing action film may be the best father and son film I've seen.
I remember this scene where confronts Tinu Anand ''Kanoon aur insaaf taqatwar ke ghar ghulam bankar behte hai''
The chemistry between Sunny Deol and Amrish Puri is just superb and their drama scenes were realistic. Sunny gives a powerful performance in his angry young man role and terrific dialogues as well. Danny Denzongpa is such an underrated actor and I think this his best performance he's given as the villain.
Frankly, Sunny Deol deserved a Filmfare Award for Best Actor although Amrish Puri received one for Best Supporting Actor. Honestly, awards in Hindi Cinema are brought and sold. - DirectorAnil SharmaStarsSunny DeolAmeesha PatelAmrish PuriDuring the Partition of India in 1947, a Sikh truck driver falls in love with a Muslim girl belonging to an aristocratic family.I like Gadar a lot and I do think the story good whilst Sunny Deol's gives a powerful performance. He was superb although he overdoes in a few scenes, for example, beating all these goons all in one.
The face-off between Sunny & Amrish Puri was mind-blowing in terms of powerful dialogue exchange. Their chemistry was superb almost on a Damini level. Bahut acha dialogue hai e.g. ''Hamara Hindustan zindabad tha, zindabad hai, aur zindabad rahega''!

This film has one of the highest footfalls at the Box Office in which today many actors are struggling to beat. It goes to show that Sunny Paaji was huge in the mass circuits until he was at his peak. - DirectorGuddu DhanoaStarsSunny DeolRaveena TandonAnupam KherIt is the story of a hot-tempered and stubborn man Deva, who is feared because of his ruthless ways and severe punishment to the local hoodlums. Later, Deva avenges the death of his brother and sister.Sunny Deol at his best in of his powerful performances.
Ziddi is a good action packed movie with a gripping story. It does have some very good twist which builds towards up with Sunny taking his revenge against the villains. There are a few flaws in this film but it's a thrilling movie to watch. - DirectorRahul RawailStarsSunny DeolDimple KapadiaRaj KiranArjun Malvankar after his graduation thrives to get job. The corruption and injustice taking place in his community frustrates him to the extent of revolting with the help of some of his friends. This path of his gets him into serious problems with the law and some outrageous gangsters. He is then taken in by a politician named Shivkumar Chowgule; who not only has pity on him but offers him a job and encourages him. Situations take a different turn one morning engulfing Arjun's life into a world of lies, deceit, crime and politics.Sunny Deol started his career in romantic movies then shift into action films. This was his first action movie.
Arjun has a good story which makes this movie relevant to understand about being a youth in India. Sunny Deol is superb and suits his role. - DirectorLatif FaiziyevUmesh MehraKanwal BialaStarsSunny DeolPoonam DhillonPran SikandAfter being violently separated from the woman he loves, a young man must disguise himself in order to keep meeting her.Touching film which I believe is based on a true story that took place centuries ago. I heard it's of the most one the common tragic romance in Punjab and it's very interesting to know about it.
--
Sunny Deol was young during those times to play these roles and he acts really well. Poonam Dhillon looks very pretty, in fact, the role of Sohni suited her because she had that innocent look and expressed her body language very well.
--
The tragic ending where these two drown which was so sad. - DirectorMukul AnandJohn Philip DaytonStarsDharmendraSunny DeolSrideviShah is the leader of the Mugal tribe in Asia; when he gets news that bandit, Razoulli and his gang are coming to launch an attack on their region, he is petrified and asks his people to vacate but General Khalid assures him not to worry much and darlingly challenge Razoulli overpowering them. When Sultan gets informed that Samir and his beloved, Zarina is returning from abroad he attempt to abduct them albeit unsuccessful. Shortly after Sultan and Khalid begins their fierce battle against each other - a battle between father and son - fully well knowing that only one shall survive.Excellent story but this was the first time Sunny Deol & Dharmendra work together. It was a delight to see the father and son due share a screen space.
--
It has got action but also romance as well on the side with Sunny Deol & Sridevi who both looked wonderful together. It was also Juhi Chawa's debut who had a small role but she pairs up well with Karan Kapoor. - DirectorRahul RawailStarsRakhee GulzarSunny DeolMeenakshi SheshadriArjun Yadav return from the city after completing his studies to get settled in his village with his family consisting of his mother Devi Chaudaran, his older brother Amrit and sister. Arjun finds out that Amrit and Thakur Bhanwar Singh does not get along quiet well and attempts to be a peace-maker between the two. One day situation takes a turn for the worse when Amrit is killed, Devi Chaudaran loses her senses, Arjun's sister is raped and he himself is beaten and tied to a tree. Arjun is then rescued by some sympathetic villagers and run off with his childhood friend Makan Malla in the deep ravines only to turn an outlaw whose only motive is to avenge the killings of his family members. One of Sunny Deol's best movie. Simply superb filled with revenge and action which keeps your mind occupied.
--
Sunny was excellent and it's one of his best performances. - DirectorRahul RawailStarsShammi KapoorNirupa RoyPrem ChopraA young man (Sunny Deol) and woman (Amrita Singh) fall in love, but face obstacles from their families. One of the best debuts I've seen in Indian Cinema. Sunny Deol became a star overnight whereas this movie launched his career with a Blockbuster. It's a very good love story and Sunny was so handsome that time.
--
His chemistry with Amrita Singh is superb and he really performances well in terms of romance and drama. There is a little bit of action as well which was good as well. Plus, the songs were very good at least two that I like in particular e.g. Jab Hum Jawab Hoge and Tumne Di Awaz. - DirectorBharathirajaStarsSunny DeolPoonam DhillonPrem ChopraRavidas (Sunny Deol) lives in a village in rural India. He is the son of Chediram (Dr. Shreeram Lagoo) who is of highly respected in the village. Ravidas falls in love with Jyoti (Poonam Dhillon). Their love becomes known in the village. Because of differences of caste, the villagers are opposed to Ravidas marrying Jyoti. Chediram commits suicide due to the shame his son has brought upon him. Ravidas is a gifted poet, but he cannot fulfill his dream of being recognized as a great poet, his poems being published and shown to the world, because he lives in a village. So he decides to go to the city to fulfill his dreams and to eventually marry Jyoti. In the city he recovers the purse of a young lady from a thief. The young lady turns out to be the daughter of a big newspaper publisher. The newspaper publisher hears of Ravidas's talent for poetry through his daughter. He publishes some of Ravidas's poems in a column in his newspaper. Ravidas starts becoming famous and his dream is fulfilled. He communicates to Jyoti by writing on the side of the morning express train, hence the title of the film Saveray Wali Gaadi. Jyoti reads these message each morning hoping for the time when Ravidas will return and take her away with him.Very good love story although it's not as good as Soni Mahiwal. However, it was a delight to watch and the screenplay is quite good.

Sunny Deol & Poonam Dhillion shared good chemistry like their previous films. I think their on-screen pairing is underrated but they look good together. - DirectorRahul RawailStarsSunny DeolPoonam DhillonAnupam KherHonest police officer Surajbhan would like Rajeshwar Nath to provide all the material documents that can prove Raiszada Narsingh is a hardcore criminal. When Raiszada learns of this through his henchman Hansukh he kills Surajbhan and frames Rajeshwar Nath for this killing. Years later Surajbhan's son Ajit grows up with Raiszada and is willing to locate Rajeshwar Nath who now calls himself Girija Shankar so that he can avenge the murder of his dad.Superb movie and certainly fun to watch. It's a typical revenge movie but the screenplay is excellent and handled very well. One thing made this film good is the cinematography which was shot in Maldives.
--
Sunny Deol & Poonam Dhillon looked wonderful together and their on-screen chemistry was a delight to watch in this film. - DirectorRajiv RaiStarsNaseeruddin ShahSunny DeolChunky PandeyA cop and a criminal, both on their respective missions of duty and revenge, go from India to Kenya in order to extradite a reclusive crime lord to India.Vishwatma was one of my childhood movies in the 90s era. It's one of the best action movies in Indian Cinema and I've seen it many times on VHS.
--
This film is one roller coaster ride that shows Kenya where Sunny Deol & Chunky Pandey team up to capture the baddies. It's a very engaging movie especially car chase sequence in the climax. Plus, Naseer who find out who the reason culprits after underestimating Sunny and Chunky.
Everybody gave good performances including Sunny Deol, Naseeruddin Shah & Amrish Puri. Chunky Pandey is decent although his role was meant to be for Jackie Shroff who told by his astrologer not to travel outside India for a year.
Although I prefer Tridev but still this movie is filled with action, revenge and superb songs. - DirectorSangeeth SivanStarsSunny DeolSushmita SenMilind GunajiA journalist seeks justice for his jailed police officer father.Brilliant action-packed movie with a good story. Lots of drama in this film with patriotism which part of the reason why this film is good as well the action itself.
Sunny Deol is simply superb as usual he gives terrific dialogues. Anupam Kher is good whilst Sushmita Sen is ok in her small role. - DirectorJ.P. DuttaStarsSunil DuttDharmendraVinod KhannaIn order to get rain for the arid region in Rajasthan, India, two royal families, from Mirtagarh and Surjangarh, have come together with their warriors, and fought with each other annually, with the winner getting the honor to sacrifice a baby buffalo. When England returned Jaswant Singh comes home with his caucasian wife, he is appalled at the slaughter and warlike conditions. But fate binds him that he is also to continue the family tradition, and as a result his wife leaves him. Years later, children from both these royal families return from England, and are friends with each other. Vinay is friendly with Vikram, and wants to wed Neelima. Will these young people succeed in stopping this bloodshed, and put an end to this rivalry, or will they also be fated to continue this deadly tradition.I think Kshatriya is a very underrated film and has great storytelling. It also has a good cast as well. You have Sunny Deol & Sanjay Dutt from the same generation (80s) with another generation Dharmendra (60s & 70s) & Vinod Khanna (70s), respectively
These four actors gave superb performances respectively. Raveena Tandon looked gorgeous and she's good as well along with Divya Bharti.
--
Action was superb especially the battle between Sunny Deol & Sanjay Dutt. - DirectorPankaj ParasharStarsSrideviSunny DeolRajinikanthTwins separated at infancy are brought up differently. One weak, one strong. One day, they end up at each others house. Their life is not the same anymore.I think Chaalbaaz is more of a Sridevi movie but Sunny Deol & Rajnikanth were both delightful to watch in this film. Both of them really shared good chemistry with Sridevi who played a double role. They had their moments in this film.
- DirectorRajiv RaiStarsSunny DeolNaseeruddin ShahJackie ShroffWhen an exiled police officer, a bandit and the son of a police commissioner are framed by a smuggler, they join forces to teach him a lesson and prove their innocence.Tridev was a Blockbuster at the Box Office and it's a very good action-packed movie, in fact, it's one of my favourite films in Indian Cinema. It really keeps your mind occupied throughout this film in terms what's going to happen. There lots of twist and turnouts in films which was directed superbly.
--
The screenplay was superb and the cast is excellent but I liked Sunny Deol's performance the most. He carries this film and makes his character look believable by showing so much intensity. Jackie Shroff, Naseeruddin Shah & Amrish Puri gave good performances in their respective roles. Madhuri Dixit is good although she gets less scope in this film but her chemistry with Sunny Deol was excellent.
This film had good but my favourite is Main Teri Mohabbat Mein. - DirectorShashilal K. NairStarsSanjay DuttSunny DeolAmrita SinghKrodh tells the story of two brothers who are in search of the man who killed their mother. The problem is they have never seen his face, but do have his name. The elder brother Ajay gets into the world of crime and also pulls his younger brother Vijay along with him in to the underworld in order to get closer to their target. But coincidentally Ajay himself ends up being a police officer and now he wants to drag his brother out of the underworld but by now its too late as his younger brother is by now the Don of the underworld. Here starts the clash of principles and ideologies between the two brothers and they get separated. Were they successful in getting hold of their mother's killer? Were the brothers successful in settling their differences?I love this movie just simply superb. Gripping story filled with action which keeps your mind engaged throughout this film. However, I do think Sanjay Dutt's performance was better but Sunny Deol was good and suits his role.
- DirectorRajkumar SantoshiStarsMeenakshi SheshadriRishi KapoorSunny DeolAfter witnessing a rape in her own household, Damini fights for justice for the deceased victim. However, she faces a bunch of challenges until she meets a disgraced lawyer who decides to fight the case and bring the culprits to justice.I don't think Sunny Deol's filmography is complete without this movie. There's a reason this film is memorable is because of Sunny Deol who gives a powerful performance. I mean the face-off between Sunny Deol & Amrish Puri was mind-blowing but also the court scenes as well. Those dialogues were awesome from Sunny e.g. ''Tarikh par tarikh'' and ''Jab yeh dhai kilo ka haath kisi pe padta hai na ... toh aadmi uthta nahi ... utth jata hai''
--
Technically this movie belongs to Meenakshi who does carry this film on her shoulders because she gave a terrific performance. Her body language was perfect such as her movement when she's in the mental asylum. She should have been given an award for Best Actress but Filmfare Awards are useless.
Nonetheless, Damini has a convincing story which deals with the women empowerment. It's one Rajkumar Santoshi's best works as a director. - DirectorSunny DeolStarsSunny DeolBobby DeolUrmila MatondkarWhen Ranvir, the responsible elder brother of a middle-class Indian family, realises that his reckless younger brother Rajvir is in love, he arranges for Rajvir's marriage, not realising that the girl is the same person he is in love with. This was Sunny and Bobby Deol's first film together and it was a treat to watch. It's mainly a drama movie filled with romance which later on turns into a love triangle. Sunny Deol directed this movie and he does a good job in terms of the screenplay and character development.
--
Both of them shared wonderful chemistry which gave it that feel in terms of their relationship as on-screen brothers. Urmila was good and suits her role. - DirectorN. MaharajanStarsSunny DeolShilpa Shetty KundraRaj BabbarBrave Indian policeman Raj beats up, then arrests Muslim terrorist Khan. This gets him promoted, and he is congratulated by none other than his father-in-law, who is also a very high ranking policeman. Suddenly, Raj finds out that many policemen would like to see Khan go free. He consults his father-in-law and surprisedly finds no support from him. Disagreements and arguments ensue, and his father-in-law gets killed as a result. The Police suspect Raj of killing him, they begin the process of arresting him, and he runs away--while Khan is all set to get freed to do whatever he likes.Very good action movie and powerful performance Sunny Deol. Just fierce and aggression is what was required which he nailed superbly. His patriotic dialogues were superb simply because his strong voice blends well with it. Shilpa Shetty is decent but her chemistry with Sunny Deol was good.
- DirectorAnil SharmaStarsDharmendraSunny DeolBobby DeolA disgraced ex-boxer attempts to make his two sons champion boxers in order to clear his name. One son agrees with this goal, but the other does not, causing family conflicts. One of the best family drama movies in Indian Cinema. It's a very touching story from the Deol's who put their heart and soul into this film. It has does have good emotional drama attached to it. I'm not a fan of boxing but this one was good and I did feel the tension especially the climax with Sunny Deol.
- DirectorSamir KarnikStarsNafisa AliYugesh AnilMadhuri BhattacharyaA married Canadian travels to India to re-unite with his estranged father and brother but faces obstacles and challenges.A fun filled entertainer from the Deols who provide all the fun in this film to make this film enjoyable. The story is very simple but it's a great comedy to say the least.
- DirectorShreyas TalpadeStarsSunny DeolBobby DeolShreyas TalpadeLife of three men comes in trouble when their photos appear on advertisement for sterilization.I love this film a lot and its a laughing riot from the cast but the story is pretty good. Everybody performs well including Sunny Deol but I liked Bobby Deol's performance the most because his comic timing was superb.
