MY TOP 31 CHARACTERS IN "AMERICAN HORROR STORY" (2011)
SPOILER ALERT!!! THIS LIST INCLUDES 31 CHARACTERS ALL FROM SEASON 1. I recommend you don't read on for if you don't like spoilers.
These are some of my favorite actors and actresses from the "American Horror Story" TV series and why. "American Horror Story" is a TV series made for every horror fan out there and is becoming one of my favorite television series of all time. Each of the chosen characters I picked, all contribute to the many twisted tales amongst the house. Whether you're a horror fan of the supernatural, masked rubber men, creepy neighbors, disfigured children, murderers, burglars, urban legends, or even haunted houses. This series is made for you.
The horror series gives nods to classic horror films such as "Psycho", "Rosemary's Baby", "Amityville Horror" and even the non-horror film, "The Breakfast Club". It also takes facts from real life horror crimes of "The Black Dahlia", "The Lindbergh Baby", both "Virginia Tech and Columbine High School Massacres", as well as names from "The Manson Family Murders".
Some of the characters I did not include are Detective Granger played by Charles S. Dutton (Alien 3), Harry Goodman played by Derek Richardson (Hostel), Security Man Luke played by Morris Chestnut (Boys in the Hood), the home invasion burglar Dallas, and newborn Michael Langdon played by Asher Gian Starita. Every actor makes a cameo on the series but their characters were just too small to include on this list. This is simply a list of my favorite characters and the ghostly roles they contribute to the series.
Welcome to my top 31 characters from the "American Horror Story" TV series. This murder list includes all of the lead heroins and villains surrounding the dead house. In order by character relation, "American Horror Story" fun facts and character quotes included. Enjoy!

Evan Peters was born in 1987 in St. Louis, Missouri to Phil and Julie Peters. When his father's job was transferred, the family moved to Grand Blanc, Michigan. There, Evan began taking acting classes and at age 15, he moved with his mother to Los Angeles in hopes of pursuing a career in the entertainment industry. His breakthrough role came when he was cast as the controversial Tate Langdon in American Horror Story (2011).TATE LANGDON - By far the fan favorite of the show. Tate has both been described as creepy and sexy all at once. The romance between him and Violet is that of a modern Beauty & the Beast with a horror theme. The shooting at Westfield High has to be one of the highlight stories of the entire series. We're blown away once we find out Tate is the Rubber Man of the house (portrayed by the uncredited actor Riley Schmidt). Actor Evan Peters does a phenomenal job creating the combination of fear and passion. It'll be nice to see what Peters brings us in Season 2 in a entirely new role and character.
FUN FACT: On Tate's board are clippings which read "You're not listening", "Murder" and "Warrior", but also "Koalas" and "Zulu".
A QUOTE FROM TATE: "I prepare for the noble war. I'm calm, I know the secret. I know what's coming and I know no one can stop me. Including myself. I kill people I like. Some of them beg for their life. I don't feel sad. I don't feel anything. It's a filthy world we live in. It's a filthy goddamn helpless world. And honestly, I feel like I'm helping to take them away from the sh--, and the piss, and the vomit that runs in the streets. I'm helping to take them somewhere clean, and kind. And there's something about all that blood man, I drown in it."- Actress

Taissa Farmiga is an American actress, and the younger sister of Academy Award nominee Vera Farmiga, who is 21 years her senior. She was born in Readington Township, New Jersey, USA, to Ukrainian-born parents Michael and Lubomyra (Spas) Farmiga.
Unlike her older sister, Taissa initially had no interest in becoming an actor. However, she was persuaded to make her acting debut in Vera's directorial debut film Higher Ground (2011). Also playing the lead, Vera wanted to cast someone who was physically similar to play the younger version of her character. Taissa was 15 years old and, apart from a second grade school play, had no previous acting experience. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, and Taissa's performance received critical acclaim. It was after Sundance that Taissa officially decided to pursue acting. At age 16, she landed a leading role as Violet Harmon in the Fox horror series American Horror Story (2011).
Farmiga has since starred in films from a range of genres, including Sofia Coppola's crime film The Bling Ring (2013), Jorge Dorado's psychological thriller Anna (2013), Todd Strauss-Schulson's horror comedy The Final Girls (2015), Hannah Fidell's romantic drama 6 Years (2015), Ti West's western In a Valley of Violence (2016), and Warren Beatty's comedy-drama Rules Don't Apply (2016).VIOLET HARMON - Violet reminds me of every smart teenage girl who sits by herself at school. She moves to a new city, a new house, bullied, learning to fit in. Her life of scars catches up with her, but not before she meets Tate. Actress Taissa Farmiga, younger sister to Academy nominee actress Vera Farmiga, owns her role of Violet. She's the only cast member playing a high school student who is actually of high school age, age 17. I expect much more from her as she continues to pursue her talented acting career.
FUN FACT: "Spooky Little Girl" is the only episode in which Violet is never seen. She is mentioned by Ben, to young Moira, who then leaves the room to make her a sandwich.
A QUOTE FROM VIOLET: "I hate it here. I hate everyone. All their bougie designer sh--, the east coast was much cooler. At least we had weather."- Actress

Connie Britton began playing country music fading sensation Rayna Jaymes in Nashville (2012) after having wrapped production for the five season long Friday Night Lights (2006) alongside Kyle Chandler. She previously appeared in Universal's Friday Night Lights (2004) -the movie- directed by Peter Berg and also starring Billy Bob Thornton; and Edward Burns' independent feature Looking for Kitty (2004).
Britton was born Constance Elaine Womack in Boston, Massachusetts, to Linda Jane (Cochran) and Edgar Allen Womack, Jr., a physicist and energy company executive. She is of Irish, German, and English descent.
Britton received accolades for her starring roles in Edward Burns' acclaimed independent films The Brothers McMullen (1995) and No Looking Back (1998). In the former, she captivated moviegoers with her portrayal of "Molly", the luminous wife of a cheating husband. This popular low-budget film went on to win the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival. After nearly canceling her audition with director Edward Burns, this last meeting of the day turned into the role that would launch her career. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Britton moved to Lynchburg, Virginia, at the age of seven with her family, including her fraternal twin sister. She went on to attend Dartmouth College, where she majored in Asian studies and spent a term in Beijing, China. Upon graduation, she moved to New York, where she spent two years at the Neighborhood Playhouse studying with Sanford Meisner, and an additional two years performing in regional theater and off-Broadway productions. She moved to Los Angeles after the success of The Brothers McMullen (1995).
She starred in ABC's Lost at Home (2003) opposite Mitch Rouse and Gregory Hines. Her other television credits include The Fighting Fitzgeralds (2001) opposite Brian Dennehy, a recurring role in the highly-acclaimed drama The West Wing (1999) and a starring role in the award-winning comedy Spin City (1996) opposite Michael J. Fox. Additionally, Britton starred in the recent feature films The Next Big Thing (2001) and One Eyed King (2001).
In her free time, Britton, who resides in both New York and Los Angeles, enjoys hiking, yoga, and doing volunteer work.VIVIEN HARMON - A very sophisticated mother who suffers from a miscarriage, must continue to play house wife and mom to a cheating husband and troubled daughter. A rape scene then leads to Violet's pregnancy, which is reminiscent of scenes in the film "Rosemary’s Baby". I first noticed Connie Britton in the mom role to the remake of "A Nightmare On Elm Street". She continues the horror genre impressing me with both television series and blockbuster movies.
FUN FACT: It is also theorized that Vivien will not age in appearance as a ghost (unlike Moira) after death in 2011 because her physical body was located and laid to rest off of the property by the living.
A QUOTE FROM VIVIEN: "I'm finding it really hard to look at your face, because I really, really want to bash it in."- Actor

A Golden Globe winner and Emmy nominee, Dylan McDermott has proven his talent in film, television, and theater. He was born Mark Anthony McDermott in Waterbury, Connecticut, to Diane (Marino) and Richard McDermott. Diane was 15 and Richard was 17 when Dylan was born. Richard earned money by hustling pool. Dylan is of Italian (from his maternal grandfather), Irish, English, and French descent. During Dylan's early years, his parents separated. In 1967, when Dylan was five, his mother was murdered by her live-in boyfriend. The murder was initially ruled an accidental shooting occurring while her boyfriend cleaned his gun, but police reopened the case in 2012 and revealed evidence showing it was impossible for her death to be have been accidental. Dylan and his sister Robin, who was then six months old, were taken in by their grandmother, Avis (Rogers) Marino.
When Dylan was 15, his father met and married playwright/activist Eve Ensler. Eve adopted Dylan. Eve encouraged him to go to acting school and Fordham University in New York City. He met his now ex-wife, Shiva Rose, at a coffee shop in Venice, California, on the same day he got a big acting break by being cast in the film In the Line of Fire (1993) with Clint Eastwood. As a result of his connection with Eastwood, Dylan attended a dinner honoring Clint. There, he met Jeffrey Kramer, a man who used to frequent a bar where Dylan had earlier worked. Kramer was, at that time, the president of David E. Kelley Productions. He asked Dylan to meet David E. Kelley for a then-upcoming series about lawyers, The Practice (1997), and the rest is history. The series earned him a Golden Globe in 1999 and nominations in 2000 and 2001, as well as an Emmy nomination in 1999. Another mentor of Dylan is Joanne Woodward, who discovered him while he was doing workshops at the Neighborhood Playhouse.
His film credits include The Messengers (2007), by the Pang brothers (link=nm0659380 and link=nm0161152); Wonderland (2003); Home for the Holidays (1995); Steel Magnolias (1989); Hamburger Hill (1987); Miracle on 34th Street (1994); In the Line of Fire (1993); and Burning Palms (2010). McDermott's television credits include the Jerry Bruckheimer-produced TNT drama Dark Blue (2009) and TNT's dramatic limited series The Grid (2004), opposite Julianna Margulies.
In 2008, McDermott starred in Nicky Silver's "Three Changes" at Playwrights Horizons, starring opposite Maura Tierney. The play follows an uncomfortably married Upper West Side couple. Additionally, in September 2006, McDermott was on stage in Eve Ensler's new play "The Treatment." Ensler's play explored the relationship between a traumatized former military interrogator (McDermott) and his psychologist colonel, who is assigned to give him routine treatment. The play opened the Impact Festival 2006, a New York City-wide arts festival as part of the Culture Project. McDermott was nominated for a Drama League Award for his performance.
McDermott appeared on television in the first season of Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk's FX drama American Horror Story (2011), opposite Connie Britton and Jessica Lange.
McDermott co-starred in Jay Roach's comedy The Campaign (2012), opposite Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis. McDermott played Tim Wattley, a political consultant who runs the campaign of a candidate from North Carolina. The Warner Bros. film was released on August 10, 2012. That year, McDermott was also seen in the indie coming-of-age drama The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012), alongside Logan Lerman (McDermott played Lerman's character's father), Emma Watson, Paul Rudd, Ezra Miller, and Mae Whitman.
In 2013, McDermott had a supporting role in Antoine Fuqua's Olympus Has Fallen (2013), alongside Aaron Eckhart and Gerard Butler. The film followed a former Secret Service agent who becomes America's only hope when the President is taken hostage by terrorists.
McDermott's additional theatre credits include Neil Simon's production of "Biloxi Blues" on Broadway and "Golden Boy," directed by Joanne Woodward at the Williamstown Theater Festival.BEN HARMON - I would say one of the most haunted living characters in the series is Dr. Harmon. Not only does he have his broken family to care for, he's also followed to the death by stalker Hayden McClaine. Including the seductive maid young Moira, and one of the previous owners Larry the Burnt Man. Actor Dylan McDermott delivers a great dramatic performance, in one of my favorite roles of his as therapist Ben Harmon.
FUN FACT: The maid played by two separate actresses, share a connection to Ben's difficult childhood that involves redheads.
A QUOTE FROM BEN: "The more you fear something, the more power you give it."- Alex Breckenridge was born on May 15 1982 in Darien, Connecticut before moving to California when she was 12. Breckenridge first got an interest in acting at 13 when she performed in local theater productions and soon moved to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career. Her first film was the independent comedy picture Locust Valley (1999). She followed up this performance with guest spots on several successful series, including Dawson's Creek (1998) and Freaks and Geeks (1999), and supporting roles in the films Big Fat Liar (2002), Orange County (2002) and the short film D.E.B.S. (2003), which won the award for Best Short at the 2003 New York Lesbian and Gay Film Festival. After appearing on the series Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997), Alex was offered her own series, the UPN drama pilot Mystery Girl. Sadly, UPN chose to have only one female-led detective series in the 2004-2005 season and Mystery Girl was not picked up. In 2005, Alex appeared in the ABC Family movie Romy and Michele: In the Beginning (2005) and took on the role of Michele Weinberger, played by Lisa Kudrow in the original 1997 film. She also began work on the animated sitcom Family Guy (1999), voicing celebrities such as Cybill Shepherd and Christina Aguilera. In 2006, Alex is breaking into the mainstream with a lead role in the comedy movie She's the Man (2006). She currently lives in Hollywood.YOUNG MOIRA - The young Moira is the flirtatious maid who's always seductive around the house to Ben Harmon. We get a flashback to her murder, and how she was buried just outside the house. For that exact reason her ghost has aged but only appears as young Moira to Ben Harmon. Actress Alexandra Breckenridge is just one of the sexiest characters on the show to melt your TV. Interestingly, the actress is the real life ex-girlfriend of the actor Evan Peters (Tate).
FUN FACT: The Greek word "moira" literally means a part or portion of the whole, and by extension one's portion in life or destiny, which consisted of bad and good moments distributed by the Fates.
A QUOTE FROM YOUNG MOIRA: "Isn't this what all men want? The freedom to satiate their needs guilt-free?" - Actress

Award-winning stage actress Frances Conroy was introduced and encouraged by her parents to explore the elements of theater. Born Frances Hardman Conroy in Monroe, Georgia, she attended high school in Long Island and experienced classes at the Neighborhood Playhouse as a teenager. The pale, blue-eyed redhead also studied drama at Dickinson College and the Juilliard School (BFA) where she was taught, at the latter college, by theater greats John Houseman and Marian Seldes.
Following potent dramatic roles in such classical productions as "Mother Courage...and Her Children," "King Lear," "All's Well That Ends Well," "Measure for Measure" and "Othello" (as Desdemona) in the late 70s, Frances made her Broadway debut with "The Lady from Dubuque" in 1980. She went on to earn a well-respected name for herself under the Broadway and off-Broadway lights throughout the 1980s in such esteemed plays as "Our Town" (as Mrs. Gibbs), "The Little Foxes (as Birdie) and "In the Summer House." She also appeared with Ms. Seldes in the well-received plays "Ring 'Round the Moon" and "A Bright Room Called Day."
A performer with the The Acting Company, Frances won a Drama Desk Award for "The Secret Rapture" and an Obie for "The Last Yankee." In 2000 she received the Outer Critics Circle Award and a Tony nomination for "The Ride Down Mt. Morgan." Her other Broadway credits include "Ring Round the Moon", "The Little Foxes", "The Rehearsal" (Drama Desk Nominee), "Broken Glass", "In the Summer House" (Drama Desk Nominee) and "The Secret Rapture" (Drama Desk Nominee). Conroy's numerous Off- Broadway plays include "The Dinner Party", "The Skin of Our Teeth", "The Last Yankee" and "Othello" (Drama Desk Nominee).
An actress of subtle power, great depth and astonishing versatility, she has both an aloof serenity and faintly sad/sensitive ambiance that makes her all the more mysterious and intriguing. She came out to California in 1985 at the invitation of director Houseman and appeared in more theater plays, including "Richard III," at San Diego's Globe Theater. She also earned a sprinkling of generally overlooked film and TV parts, including small parts in Woody Allen's Manhattan (1979) (debut), Another Woman (1988) and Crimes and Misdemeanors (1989). Showing a distinct flair for the offbeat and neurotic, nothing really pushed the envelope for her on screen quite like her series' turn as the dowdy, emotionally frail undertaker's widow Ruth Fisher in the cult hit TV series Six Feet Under (2001). During the five-season run she won both a Golden Globe and three Screen Actors Guild awards and was nominated four times for an Emmy.
Film roles have been growing more abundant over the years, offering a number of fascinating featured roles, often as eccentric, often disturbing mothers and matrons. Such movies include Billy Bathgate (1991), Scent of a Woman (1992), Sleepless in Seattle (1993), The Crucible (1996), Maid in Manhattan (2002), Die, Mommie, Die! (2003), Catwoman (2004), The Aviator (2004) (as Kate Hepburn's mother), Shopgirl (2005), The Wicker Man (2006), Humboldt County (2008), The Smell of Success (2009), Love Happens (2009), 6 Souls (2010), Waking Madison (2010), Chasing Ghosts (2014), Making the Rules (2014), Welcome to Happiness (2015), rare leading roles in No Pay, Nudity (2016) and Mountain Rest (2018), and as psychotic Joaquin Phoenix's needy mother in the Oscar-winning psychological drama Joker (2019).
Frances has also appeared to fine advantage in several other TV series of late, most notably American Horror Story (2011) in which she earned her fifth and sixth Emmy nomination. She also had stand-out roles in How I Met Your Mother (2005), Casual (2015), Arrested Development (2003) and Dead to Me (2019), in addition to episodic guest spots on "ER," "Desperate Housewives," "Nip/Tuck," "Grey's Anatomy," "Young Sheldon" and "Castle Rock."
In 1992, she married actor/husband Jan Munroe, an L.A. performance artist. After a few Broadway roles with "The Little Foxes" (as Birdie), "Ring Round the Moon" and "The Ride Down Mt. Morgan," Frances returned to the theatre after a six-year absence, in the 2006 production of "Pyrenees" by David Greig at the Kirk Douglas Theater in Los Angeles.MOIRA O'HARA - The aged Moira plays what you'd look for in a typical maid, and who I would describe as the friendliest ghost of the house. It's interesting to see her character for she understands, that she's doomed to live in that house forever until her body is discovered. So she moves onwards doing the only thing she knows how to do best, clean up the messes. Actress Frances Conroy is no stranger to a darkly series. The actress won a Golden Globe Award for her character Ruth Fisher in the television series, "Six Feet Under".
FUN FACT: The actress who portrays the older version of Moira, Frances Conroy, actually has a discolored iris, she is not wearing contact lenses. She was in a car accident and then had eye surgery. Frances mentioned her eye problem in the casting sessions and the writers decided to make this a plot point so that she would not have to wear contact lenses. That is why Constance shooting Moira in the eye was written in.

Jessica Lange was born in 1949, in Cloquet, Minnesota, USA, where her father worked as a traveling salesman. She obtained a scholarship to study art at the University of Minnesota, but instead went to Paris to study drama. She moved to New York, working as a model, until producer Dino De Laurentiis cast her as the female lead in King Kong (1976). The film attracted much unfavorable comment and, as a result, Lange was off the screen for three years. She was given a small but showy part in Bob Fosse's All That Jazz (1979), before giving a memorable performance in Bob Rafelson's The Postman Always Rings Twice (1981), as an adulterous waitress. The following year, she won rave reviews for her exceptional portrayal of actress Frances Farmer in Frances (1982) and a Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for her work in Sydney Pollack's Tootsie (1982) (as a beautiful soap-opera actress). She was also outstanding as country singer Patsy Cline in Karel Reisz's Sweet Dreams (1985) and as a lawyer who defends her father and discovers his past in Music Box (1989). Other important films include Martin Scorsese's Cape Fear (1991) (as a frightened housewife) and Tony Richardson's Blue Sky (1994), for which she won a Best Actress Academy Award as the mentally unbalanced wife of a military officer. She made her Broadway debut in 1992, playing "Blanche" in Tennessee Williams "A Streetcar Named Desire".CONSTANCE LANGDON - Constance has to be one of the most mysterious neighbors on any television series. Her southern sense of humor carries her ego between the living and the dead. A family of nightmares and misfortunes pretty much explains the life of Constance. The two time Oscar winner is the only cast member to win a Golden Globe Award for her supporting role on "American Horror Story".
FUN FACT: Although Constance stated that she had four children, a fourth child was never revealed.
A QUOTE FROM CONSTANCE: "I have long stopped wondering why the mad do mad things."- YOUNG ADELAIDE - Young Addie appears as the first character in the Pilot episode as the mysterious little girl. Addie appears to have been born with Down syndrome, a chromosomal disorder. Whether this is accurate, or whether there is some other influence on her appearance (whether or not Addie is even Addie and not the fourth child of Constance whose identity is still unknown) remains to be seen. Two of her siblings also are said to have had issues of a similar nature.
FUN FACT: Her age and birth date in the series are unknown.

Kai and his twin brother Bodhi began their acting career at 3 years old when they booked their first commercial audition, which happened to be a national Mc Donald's commercial. Bodhi and Kai are identical mirror twins, and are best known for their role as Troy and Bryan on American Horror Story. The twins opened the first episode of the season and reappeared throughout season 1: Murder House. Kai has had roles in television, film, commercials and stage, but since appearing on American Horror Story has mostly appeared in television commercials for companies like Mazda, Bank of America and Blue Cross.
Kai and Bodhi were both raised in Malibu California and are college students at California Lutheran University. Currently however, they have been living and studying abroad in Japan and haven't been seen much on television since entering University in 2017. They apparently plan to return to acting once they finish their college careers.
A little know fact about the boys is that their Grandfather is a legendary 70's comedy guru Chris Bearde, creator and writer and award winner for such shows as Sonny and Cher, Laugh In, The Gong Show,& The Elvis Presley 1968 Special.TROY & BRYAN TWINS - The two twin boys practically set the mood for what the rest of the season picks up on. They get into mischief, they're destructive, they have no respect for a house, and end up disappearing. We see the twins in several of the following episodes as ghosts. Still acting as the same two twins, playing tricks on Vivien with the kitchen cabinets, and damaging Dr. Harmon's car.
FUN FACT: They are the first ghosts among the multitude that appear to Violet, and are seen running through the basement.

Jamie Brewer is known for her breakthrough dimensional role as Adelaide 'Addie' Langdon in American Horror Story (2011). She has a theatre background which started in 1999. She has continued her theatre and improvisation training at the 'Ruskin School of Acting', and at the 'Howard Fine Acting School'. Jamie appeared/spoke in PSA's for the "Souper Bowl" of Caring Houston Food Drive" in Houston, TX for 2 consecutive years which aired on NBC, ABC, and CBS.
Brewer is involved with a several non-profit organizations, including DSAOC, DSALA, BTAP, National Down Syndrome Congress, the American Association of People with Disabilities of the United States, Shane's Inspiration, and Easterseals.ADELAIDE - Adelaide is probably the most innocent character of the entire show. All she wants to do is play with her friends in the haunted house, and to be as pretty as Violet. Her Halloween costume is "The Pretty Girl", just before her untimely death. One of the saddest moments I think in the series. She's physically attacked only one time in the house and this was by the Harmon's dog, Hallie. Actress Jamie Brewer, much like the young Addie, both have their breakthrough performances on "American Horror Story".
FUN FACT: Addie appears to be able to enter the house, no matter what barriers are in her way.
A QUOTE FROM ADELAIDE: "I like it here! My friends are here!"- Sam Kinsey gained immediate success in his first year in Hollywood booking a major recurring role as Beauregard Langdon, on the hit series American Horror Story created by Ryan Murphy on FX. American Horror Story has been well received by television critics, but the majority of the praise going towards the cast, which Sam has a pivotal role in Season 1: Murder House and Season 8: Apocalypse. Sam's character Beauregard, known as Beau, is the son of Constance, ( Jessica Lange ) and Hugo Langdon, brother to Tate (Evan Peters ), Adelaide ( Jamie Brewer ) and Rose Langdon. Beau is one of the trapped spirits that haunt the murder house with his red ball. But unlike most of the haunting ghosts that have died in the house, he is known for having a very kind and innocent soul. He lived in the attic of the murder house, where he was kept chained up by his mother. Constance couldn't bear the thought of having Beau taken away. So, to avoid Beau from being institutionalized by Child Protection Services for neglect, She decided to have Larry Harvey ( Denis O'Hare ) smother him to death with a pillow. That way his spirit would live on forever in the murder house, where she could visit him whenever she wanted.
The amazing cast has won numerous awards including Jessica Lange, who won two Emmy Awards, a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild Award. Kathy Bates and James Cromwell each one an Emmy Award for their performances, while Lady Gaga won A Golden Globe Award. The series draws consistently high ratings for the FX network.
Sam Kinsey, born in a small town in East Liverpool, Ohio, is an American actor and singer. Coming from an athletic family background, the youngest of five boys Sam grew up to be a serious competitive athlete. He played basketball, tennis, golf, baseball and soccer. Sam holds the record in tennis for the most wins in high school history at the East Liverpool High school. He earned the top offensive player award of his class in basketball. He also led the state in soccer for penalty kick saves as a goalie and third in the state for total saves. He was First team All MAC and Columbiana County as a goalie. His dream of being an actor and singer began at an early age, after getting much praise and recognition at the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center and school plays.
After high school, Sam attended the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts in New York to study theater and film and tv, before moving to Los Angeles to fulfill his dream of pursuing a professional career as an actor and singer, where he continued his studies.
Sam has worked with many highly claimed actors and actresses. Besides his very memorable recurring arc on the hit series American Horror Story for FX some other notable credits include Youthful Daze, A Haunting in Salem, Danger One, and Solve.
Sam currently resides in Los Angeles and is represented by Endorse Management Group.BEAUREGARD - Also known as the disfigured brother, "Beau". Chained up in the attic most of his life, the ghost of the monstrous Beau only reappears in either the attic or basement. Most notably opening up with rolling out his favorite toy red ball to join him and play. Much like Adelaide (his sister), he also is a innocent but tormented boy. Unlike Adelaide, he was murdered. The young actor Sam Kinsey also makes his breakthrough role on "American Horror Story".
FUN FACT: Beauregard is French for "beautiful gaze".

Denis Patrick Seamus O'Hare is an American actor, singer, and author noted for his award-winning performances in the plays Take Me Out and Sweet Charity, as well as portraying vampire king Russell Edgington on HBO's fantasy series True Blood. He is also known for his supporting roles in such films as Charlie Wilson's War, Milk, Changeling, and Dallas Buyers Club. In 2011, he starred as Larry Harvey in the first season of the FX anthology series American Horror Story, for which he was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Miniseries or a Movie in 2012. He returned to the show in 2013, playing Spalding in American Horror Story: Coven and once more as Stanley in American Horror Story: Freak Show, the latter for which he earned a second Primetime Emmy Award nomination. For his performance in American Horror Story: Hotel as Liz Taylor, O'Hare received critical acclaim.LARRY HARVEY - Also known as the disfigured, "Burnt Man". Larry Harvey is one of the previous owners of the house, who tries to warn Ben Harmon that he must get out. The fire that killed his whole family is just one of the problems Larry has. In love with the neighbor Constance, his objective is to do anything to get Dr. Harmon out of that house. Including to get rid of that pesky stalker of Dr. Harmon. Actor Denis O'Hare has done some brilliant drama and thriller movies, such as "The Babysitters", and "Quarantine". Definitely an underrated actor.
FUN FACT: The name "Larry Harvey" is a reference to the founder of the "Burning Man" festival of the same name.

Shelby Young is a Los Angeles-based actor with an extensive background in voice over, voice-matching, motion capture, looping/ADR and on-camera. A self-proclaimed nerd with an affinity for cats, theme parks and sushi, Shelby has amassed a large social media following by way of Tiktok and Youtube where she shares fun voice over, impressions and comedy related videos. In the world of VO, Shelby might be best known for her work in the Star Wars galaxy, voicing multiple characters across their animation titles and video games, including voicing Princess Leia Organa in projects such as Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga, Disney Channel's Star Wars Forces of Destiny and Lego Star Wars: Terrifying Tales! Shelby's also known by video games fans for her work as Soph Blazkowicz, whom she brought to life through both voice and movement via MoCap, in Wolfenstein: Youngblood as one of the first-ever playable female characters in the long-standing franchise. Shelby's resume includes other AAA franchises such as Call of Duty, Battlefield, Final Fantasy and Dead Rising 3, where she voiced and provided MoCap for the lead role of Annie. You can currently hear Shelby recur as Rayna on Nickelodeon's, "Baby Shark's Big Show!" and she can be heard in the upcoming, and highly anticipated, God of War: Ragnarök. When she's not working in animation and games, Shelby spends her time "stepping into the mouths" of celebrities, by voice-matching for an ever growing list of Hollywood's leading ladies (and young men) in multiple high-profile film and television projects. In the on-camera world you may know Shelby as Leah from the Emmy-winning American Horror Story, KC in the Best Picture Oscar®-nominated The Social Network, or Kinsey on Days of Our Lives.LEAH - She's the only other living student of Westfield High that we get to know, other than Violet. First she was the big bad bully to Violet, and after some influence by Tate, she's left with nightmares of being in that house. She unknowingly gives Violet the answer to her fate. Leah is one of the only living people who has seen and is attacked by the ghost Infantata. Actress Shelby Young, for a guest starring role turns in a great performance.
FUN FACT: Leah and Violet's relationship doesn't make the two friends. However, they have no one else to talk to about the horrors of the house, since no one would believe them. They are therefore forced to spend time together to deal with their traumatic experience.
A QUOTE FROM LEAH: "The devil is beautiful."- Ben Woolf was born on 15 September 1980 in Fort Collins, Colorado, USA. He was an actor, known for American Horror Story (2011), Haunting Charles Manson (2014) and Woggie (2012). He died on 23 February 2015 in Los Angeles, California, USA.THADDEUS MONTGOMERY - Also known as the creation of Charles Montgomery, "Infantata". Thaddeus only appears in a couple of different episodes, representing the failed attempt of a family trying to have a baby. Much like Moira, Thaddeus was murdered and undiscovered, therefore ages as a ghost. Actor Ben Woolf has to have had the most detailed make-up design amongst all of the dead in the house. And he does a great job of using it for terror.
FUN FACT - Concerning Infantata's design, creator Ryan Murphy states that the mouth is based off of a leech mouth. The character's overall "look" is inspired by the genetic disease Progeria, and the character's clothing is inspired by one worn by the dismembered Lindbergh Baby.

Lily Rabe was born in New York, New York, USA. She is an actress and producer, known for Miss Stevens (2016), No Reservations (2007) and Fractured (2019).NORA MONTGOMERY - Nora is the first female home owner of the house, married to the husband who's a surgeon, Charles Montgomery. In pieces of every episode, we learn more about the couple and their diabolical desires. In death, Nora is still haunted to want to have her very own baby. Much like every other family after her. Actress Lily Rabe, daughter to the late actress Jill Clayburgh, does a terrific job in one of my favorite performances of hers.
FUN FACT: Unlike many of the ghosts aside from Violet, she kills herself by a bullet to the head. Horrified and confused as a ghost, she quickly gains her threatening personality to want to take Vivien's baby no matter what.
A QUOTE FROM NORA: "If Thaddeus comes back to scare you again, just shut your eyes and say GO AWAY!"- Paul Butler is known for My Sister's Keeper (2009), A Single Man (2009) and American Horror Story (2011).YOUNG TATE - Very different from the modern Tate, we see an innocent child raised by the ghosts and monsters of his family and residents before him. I believe it's from this moment on, when we see a slow ticking bomb develop in the young boys mind. Actor Paul Butler has already started an early acting career and can be seen in the Oscar nominated film, "A Single Man". His father in that movie is also cast in "American Horror Story", as the gay partner "Patrick".
FUN FACT: From the beginning we learn that the ghost Nora still dreams of raising a baby much resembling young Tate. Tate vows to himself to give her that baby one day.

Matt Ross was born on 3 January 1970 in Greenwich, Connecticut, USA. He is an actor and director, known for Captain Fantastic (2016), American Psycho (2000) and Face/Off (1997).CHARLES MONTGOMERY - Charles is a husband, father to a brought-back-to-life Infantata, and is a surgeon gone mad with experiments. It is likely that the case of Thaddeus going missing and later turning up dismembered was inspired by the real life case of the Lindbergh baby. Who was also kidnapped and later turned up heavily decomposed and dismembered. This seems even more probable given his lace gown, which is nearly identical to the Lindbergh's baby. Actor Matt Ross gives a great performance as the creepy surgeon Charles Montgomery. Best known for his role in the movie "American Psycho".
FUN FACT: Regarding his dismembering of Short, Charles shares similarities with one of the real-life suspects in the case, Doctor Walter Bayley. He was a prominent surgeon who was believed to have performed illegal abortions and suffered from a deterioration of his sanity.
A QUOTE FROM CHARLES: "A writer writes, a surgeon cuts. I think you will find these pieces more portable. She seemed so sad. I've decided to give her a smile that will last forever."- Actress

Mena Alexandra Suvari was born in Newport, Rhode Island, the youngest of four children. She is the daughter of Ando Suvari, a psychiatrist, and the former Candice Chambers, a nurse. Mena's first name comes from her British aunt named after the "House of Mena" Hotel (at the base of the pyramids in Egypt); her last name is Estonian. Suvari grew up in an old stone mansion that she insists was haunted. The family later relocated to Charleston, South Carolina, where her brothers lined up to attend the Citadel (a military college). Mena, meanwhile, was entertaining dreams of becoming an archaeologist, astronaut, or doctor. Her interests took a turn for the... less cerebral, however, when a modeling agency stopped by her all-girls school to offer classes. At age 12, after receiving a few pointers on her runway strut, Suvari attended a modeling convention and was snapped up by the Manhattan-based Wilhelmina agency. She later moved to L.A. under their children's theatrical division WeeWillys, which began her acting career.
Suvari started in on TV work almost immediately--commercials at first, followed by guest appearances on Boy Meets World (1993), ER (1994), and Chicago Hope (1994). Mena was a natural for movies: she is petite (5'4"), has blue eyes, and her natural hair color is blonde. She launched her film career in 1997, picking up small roles in Gregg Araki's Nowhere (1997) and the Morgan Freeman-Ashley Judd thriller Kiss the Girls (1997). She popped up again in the background of Slums of Beverly Hills (1998), then landed a slightly meatier role as the best friend of the telekinetic heroine in The Rage: Carrie 2 (1999).
Suvari's ticket to fame was the teen sex quest American Pie (1999), which cast her as a wholesome choir girl who falls for a jock (Chris Klein). A few months later, she turned even more heads as the vampish cheerleader who captures Kevin Spacey's unwholesome imagination in American Beauty (1999). The sultry-but-fragile character earned Suvari a British Academy Award nomination, as well as a flurry of job offers and gushing fansites. In the midst of the hubbub surrounding the film, she slipped off with her boyfriend, cinematographer Robert Brinkmann, to tie the knot in a secret ceremony. The media was quick to point out the pair's 18-year age difference, but Suvari shrugged it off (her own parents, who divorced in 2001 after 32 years of marriage, wed when her mother was 21 and her father 48).
The in-demand actress completed her patriotic hat trick by starring in American Virgin (1999) (originally titled "Live Virgin") as the daughter of a porn king. The title change wasn't enough of a boost to keep the mediocre movie afloat in theaters--after a brief New York run, it headed straight to video. Her next effort was another underperformer, but the aptly named Loser (2000) (a collegiate love story that reunited her with American Pie's Jason Biggs) at least made it into suburban circulation--perhaps on the name recognition of its two young stars. Suvari kept her chin up, heading back to high school for the cheerleading/bank heist flick Sugar & Spice (2001) and joining the cast of the period film The Musketeer (2001).
She continued to showcase her range in ability by costarring with John Leguizamo in Jonas Åkerlund's cult classic Spun (2002) and then alongside Jennifer Aniston in Rob Reiner's Rumor Has It... (2005) and Keira Knightley in Tony Scott's Domino (2005). She also played opposite James Franco in Sonny (2002), the directorial debut of Nicolas Cage, and had a recurring role on HBO's Six Feet Under (2001).
Mena rounded out her creative pursuits by playing the iconic Black Dahlia in Ryan Murphy's anthology series American Horror Story (2011) and continued working in TV by following up with an arc in the hit series Chicago Fire (2012), as well as leading the Amazon pilot Hysteria (2014) and WeTv's miniseries South of Hell (2015). Mena then starred opposite Alicia Silverstone for TV Land's American Woman (2018).
Amicably divorced from Brinkmann after five years, Mena had a brief second marriage to Simone Sestito, an Italian concert promoter who, she claims, drained her financially. Since 2018, she has been married to Canadian prop master Michael Hope. The couple had a son, Christopher Alexander Hope, in 2021. That same year, Mena published her first book, 'The Great Peace'. Mena's hobbies include: jewelry making, photography, mountain biking, and hiking. Her fans look forward to her new projects.ELIZABETH SHORT - Also known as the actress, "The Black Dahlia". Who was in real life murdered and became Hollywood's biggest unsolved mystery. We relive the final moments of what easily could have been Elizabeth Short's life. What better place for an actress to want to gain fame than in the city of Los Angeles, the back drop for "American Horror Story". Mena Suvari a favorite actress of mine, embodies the same essence of Elizabeth Short in her character role. From her smile, to the "Nightmare" score by Artie Shaw. This is a brilliant moment for "American Horror Story".
FUN FACT: The character Elizabeth Short is American Horror Story's play on the still unexplained murder that lead to the real Elizabeth Short's death. The late Miss Short was not referred to as "The Black Dahlia" until after her death. The name was a pun on the (then popular) film "The Blue Dahlia", changing the word Blue to Black because of Elizabeth's black hair and affinity for wearing black gowns.

Michael Graziadei was born on 22 September 1979 in Germany. He is an actor, known for True Detective (2014), American Horror Story (2011) and Good Girls Revolt (2015).TRAVIS WANDERLY - Travis plays the cute and adorable boy toy to the neighbor, Constance. His compassion for Adelaide is sweet, but his dreams to become a model leave him open to be taken advantage of. Actor Michael Graziadei plays more of a role as a pawn for sex, and quickly gets entangled in Hayden's web. His death is just one of the creative ideas behind the scenes.
FUN FACT: Travis' life bears strong resemblance to Elizabeth Short's. He is a young man who came to L.A. for a shot at fame only to be gruesomely murdered. Also like Short, he gained a nickname in the aftermath of his death: "The Boy Dahlia".

Kate Mara is an American actress. She starred in the Netflix political drama House of Cards (2013) as Zoe Barnes and appeared in the Fox TV series 24 (2001) as computer analyst Shari Rothenberg. She appeared in Brokeback Mountain (2005), We Are Marshall (2006), Shooter (2007), Transsiberian (2008), Stone of Destiny (2008), The Open Road (2009), Transcendence (2014), and Fantastic Four (2015) as the Invisible Woman. She also appeared in the FX horror mini-series American Horror Story (2011) as Hayden McClaine. Mara's film debut was in Random Hearts (1999), with Harrison Ford in 1999, directed by Sydney Pollack. In 2015, she also had a supporting role as astronaut "Beth Johanssen" in director Ridley Scott's film The Martian (2015). In the same year, she also starred as Ashley Smith in the movie Captive (2015).
Mara also starred in Morgan (2016), Megan Leavey (2017) and My Days of Mercy (2017).
Kate was born in Bedford, New York. She is one of four children of Kathleen McNulty (Rooney) and NFL football team New York Giants executive Timothy Christopher Mara. Her younger sister is actress Rooney Mara.
Her grandfathers were Wellington Mara, co-owner of the Giants, and Timothy Rooney, owner of Yonkers Raceway, and her grand-uncle is Steelers Chairman Dan Rooney, the former US Ambassador to Ireland. She is the great-granddaughter of Art Rooney Sr., the founder of the Pittsburgh Steelers football franchise. She often sings the national anthem at Giants home games. Her father has Irish, German, and French-Canadian ancestry, and her mother is of Irish and Italian descent.
Mara graduated from high school a year early. She was accepted at the prestigious NYU Tisch School of the Arts but deferred her admission for three consecutive years.HAYDEN MCCLAINE - Hayden is best known as the mistress to stalk Dr. Harmon, who he first cheated with and to whom he still see's occasionally. Her love for Dr. Harmon gets her killed on the property of the house. Actress Kate Mara much like her sister, actress Rooney Mara (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), are two favorite sisters of mine to watch in the movie industry. Kate portrays the definition of what a psycho stalker is, who then becomes a ghost to the house. Her weapon of choice is an ice pick, a reference to the movie, "Basic Instinct". At times I think she's even sexier than the character Moira.
FUN FACT: Hayden now shares a grave with Moira. If Moira is unable to move on from the house (it is suggested this is because her remains are still on the premises), then it is possible the same is true of Hayden. In which case, she will age as a ghost much like Moira.
A QUOTE FROM HAYDEN: "He said that, in-between my thighs, I tasted like raspberries and cream."- Jamie Harris was born on 15 May 1963 in England, UK. He is an actor, known for The Prestige (2006), The New World (2005) and Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011).R. FRANKLIN - The character of R. Franklin plays out to become one of the most horrific serial killers of his time. Pretending to be an injured man, he makes his way into the house and kidnaps a couple of the nurses. His commands to dress in uniform, soon explains each nurses fate. Actor Jamie Harris, younger brother to actor Jared Harris (Mad Men) gives a great creepy performance as a man gone mad. I also loved the use of the "Psycho" themes, "The Rainstorm" and "The Bathroom" playing in the background of his scenes and stabbings.
FUN FACT: R. Franklin's character and murders were inspired by the case of real life serial killer Richard Speck.

Mageina Tovah was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA. She is an actress and director, known for Spider-Man 2 (2004), The Magicians (2015) and Hux (2016).BIANCA FOREST - One of the pretend patients of Dr. Harmon, confessing one of her nightmares to him. We soon later realize that she had been casing the house for the home invasion to happen that night. Soon Bianca who was ready to create a murder, becomes a victim herself. Actress Mageina Tovah is no stranger to television series, and also had the small role in both "Spider-Man 2" and "Spider-Man 3" movies. A great actress who I noticed immediately from her slender physique and eerie expressions.
FUN FACT: Bianca died halfway down the street off the property in a way similar to her alleged dream, bisected at the waist.
A QUOTE FROM BIANCA: "R. Franklin was the first, before Manson. He changed the culture, we're paying tribute to him."- Actress
Azura Skye was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, and began acting as a child in local theater. At age fifteen she was cast in her first on camera role alongside James Earl Jones and Hume Cronyn in the Showtime original film, Horton Foote's "Alone." Shortly thereafter she starred as Jane in the WB's "Zoe, Duncan, Jack & Jane," and in the feature film "28 Days" starring Sandra Bullock. Skye's other film credits include, "Bandits," "Red Dragon," and "One Missed Call," and she's worked on a slew of television shows over the past two decades including "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "American Horror Story," "Girls," and "Riverdale." Skye starred in the independent feature, "The Swerve," for which she won Best Actress awards at FrightFest, Panic Fest, and Cinepocalype, where Joel Schumacher served as jury president.FIONA - Fiona who plays victim outside the front door of the Harmon's, wants to recreate every detail of the R. Franklin murders. As the leader of the home invasion, she surprises the group with the actual ashtray used in the kidnappings, in which she purchased off of Ebay. Fiona like the others, ended up getting what they deserved from the very same two ghost nurses the group had mocked. Actress Azura Skye has a long list of roles in both TV and movies, always as the quiet and creepy girl.
FUN FACT: Fiona dies in a manner similar to that which she would have re-enacted as murderer.

Celia Finkelstein was born in Pensacola, Florida, USA. Celia is an actor and writer, known for Horrible Bosses (2011), Contracted (2013) and American Horror Story (2011).GLADYS - The plus size nurse is kidnapped against her will by R. Franklin, who quickly refers to her as Fatty Patty. She's then drowned in the upstairs bathroom tub, in which she reappears as a ghost on numerous accounts. Gladys also is one of the two nurses to help give birth to Vivien in the present day. Actress Celia Finkelstein gave me the creeps whenever I saw her as a ghost. She just had a haunting presence about her, more so than the rest of the ghosts on the show.
FUN FACT: Gladys is the only ghost who shows herself to Derrick in the tub of the Harmon's upstairs bathroom as he practices in getting over his fear of ghosts.

Eric Stonestreet was born on 9 September 1971 in Kansas City, Kansas, USA. He is an actor and writer, known for The Loft (2014), Almost Famous (2000) and Modern Family (2009).DERRICK - As one of Dr. Harmon's patients, he's completely frightened of urban legends. Quickly he gets to the most frightening one of them all, the legend of "Piggy Man". After a couple struggles he takes Dr. Harmon's advice one last time, just before his death. Just seconds after Vivien eats a brain, Derrick gets shot in the head, an ironic twist on the Piggy Man legend. Actor Eric Stonestreet is a talented actor and makes a great guest appearance for this one episode. He's currently one of the lead characters on the hit comedy series, "Modern Family".
FUN FACT: Derrick died in exactly the way he was afraid of, but it was due to a home burglary, not the Piggy Man.

Brando Eaton was born in Los Angeles, California where he was raised as an only child by a single mother. Bitten by the acting bug early, he started doing plays at the age of five which grew into a successful acting career working steadily on such shows/films as ZOEY 101, Dexter, CSI, NCIS, Secret Life of the American Teenager, Alvin & the Chipmunks 2, American Sniper.
Building a resume of accolades on hit shows, Academy Award winning films, and a Screen Actors Guild award nomination, Brando continued working as an actor while branching out as an entrepreneur covering all aspects of the entertainment (writing, directing, producing, and co-founding the production/management company SEEN Entertainment), military technology, and anti-human trafficking and child exploitation. Brando lives in California, Tennessee, and Florida focusing on his passions.KYLE GREENWELL - One of the slain students to go to Westfield High, he's shot in between the eyes by the troubled Tate. On Halloween night at the Harmon's house, he comes back with the rest of the Dead Breakfast Club to confront both Tate and Violet. It's never explained to Violet that these kids are actually ghosts, she had assumed they were just dressed up as zombies. Actor Brando Eaton has become a great TV actor, making huge appearances on other television series including "Dexter" and "The Secret Life of the American Teenager".
FUN FACT: Westfield High is likely a reference to the Virginia Tech shootings. Seung-Hui Cho, who committed the worst single shooter massacre in US history, killing 33 and injuring 25, was an alumni of "Westfield High" in Virginia.

Ashley Nicole Rickards is an American actress. She graduated from high school, at age 15, and is currently a member of MENSA. She has been in various films and television shows, portraying a wide variety of characters, most notably Fly Away (2011), in which she portrayed "Mandy", a severely autistic girl. She is also the lead character, "Jenna Hamilton", in MTV's Awkward. (2011). A former competitive equestrian, Ashley is also on the board of directors for "Project Futures Somaly Mam Foundation", which works to prevent and end human trafficking and sexual slavery in south east Asia and, soon, worldwide. Ashley writes poetry, scripts, and short stories in her spare time.CHLOE STAPLETON - One of the slain students in Tate's massacre at Westfield High. She comes back with the rest of the Dead Breakfast Club as the bloody cheerleader who also confronts Tate. Actress Ashley Rickards is a beautiful actress who like many, I would have liked to have seen a bit more of. Coincidentally the actor Evan Peters (Tate) played the love interest of Ashley Rickards (Chloe) on the show "One Tree Hill". Which also might be a pun to what Tate tells her when she's a ghost.
FUN FACT: She was the last to be shot by Tate, tearfully begging him to not kill her as she urinated due to the horror. She was shot directly in the heart.

Zachary Quinto was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Margaret J. (McArdle), an Irish-American office worker, and Joseph John Quinto, an Italian-American barber. Zachary graduated from Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh, with the class of 1995, where he won Pittsburgh's Gene Kelly Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance as the Major General in Gilbert and Sullivan's "The Pirates of Penzance". He then went on to attend Carnegie Mellon University, where he continued to hone his talents by performing in plays and musicals. He first appeared on numerous television series since 2000 and, in 2003, landed the role of computer expert "Adam Kaufman" on the Fox series, 24 (2001), during its third season. In 2006, Quinto portrayed serial killer "Sylar" on the science fiction series, Heroes (2006), until its cancellation in 2010, after four seasons. He was cast in his first main film role as "Spock", in the hugely successful franchise reboot, Star Trek (2009).CHAD WARWICK - Chad is the previous owner of the haunted house before the Harmon's. He's known for purchasing the rubber man outfit for his lover Patrick. On Halloween that year, Chad is confronted by The Rubber Man and meets his demise. He returns as a ghost, who finds it in himself to want a baby as well. Actor Zachary Quinto has an awesome role as the more feminine lover. As soon as he's a ghost, he becomes quite creepier than when he was alive. In his career, he's known as Spock from the new "Star Trek" and untitled Star Trek sequel.
FUN FACT: Actor Zachary Quinto is in fact gay, but is vastly different from the role of Chad. He also is the only person in history to appear on the cover of Entertainment Weekly two weeks in a row.
A QUOTE FROM CHAD: "Well I do LOVE Halloween.. and it's just around the corner."- When Steven Bochco cast Teddy Sears in the role of Richard Patrick Woolsley IV in TNT's hit series Raising the Bar (2008), he had no way of knowing the parallels between the actor's life and the character's. Of course with his training, talent and experience, Sears didn't need to be at all like his character, but there is a nice connection between Woolsley, the scion of a wealthy legal dynasty who turns renegade to become a legal defender, and Sears, literally the descendant of Plymouth Rock pilgrims, who left the business world to become an actor.
Growing up in Chevy Chase, Maryland, Teddy Sears was a great student and an even better athlete. Great-grandson of a 1912 Olympic gold-medalist (shooting) and nephew of an aunt who brought home a bronze in the 100 meter butterfly from the 1956 Melbourne games, he followed that tradition of excellence with state and national recognition in high school football and swimming and played varsity football for the University of Maryland. He graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in business management before discovering his true calling and following its voice to New York and the beginning of his acting career. There he studied with acclaimed coach William Esper, worked tirelessly in the crucible of daytime drama, and landed guest-star roles in series like Law & Order (1990).
He showed his comedy chops in bits on The David Letterman Show (1980) and Late Night with Conan O'Brien (1993), and then moved to Los Angeles, where he worked steadily in film and as a guest star in both television drama and comedy prior to joining the cast of Steven Bochco's Raising the Bar (2008) which enjoyed a two year run on TNT. He can also be seen in the recently released feature A Single Man (2009), starring Colin Firth and Julianne Moore. Sears now makes his home in a beach community south of Los Angeles, where he uses his few spare hours surfing and training for triathlons.PATRICK - It's clear that his relationship isn't strong with Chad. The two have a fight on Halloween and never resolve their issues before both being murdered by The Rubber Man. This also carries over to their future as ghosts. Unlike Chad, Patrick wishes he had never been trapped in the house. Actor Teddy Sears is a guest appearance TV actor and certainly made for a great role to watch here.
FUN FACT: It is theorized that Patrick did not age as a ghost after his physical death (unlike Moira and the Infantata ) because his physical body was found and laid to rest off of the property.

Sarah Paulson was born on December 17, 1974 in Tampa, Florida, to Catharine Gordon (Dolcater) and Douglas Lyle Paulson II. She spent most of her early years in New York and Maine, before settling in Manhattan to attend the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and the High School for Performing Arts. Although she made her Broadway debut in "The Sisters Rosensweig" and performed in the off-Broadway "Talking Pictures", she debuted on the small screen in late 1994 in a guest shot on NBC's Law & Order (1990), then, in the following spring, landed her first TV-movie role in CBS' Friends at Last (1995) and finally became a TV series regular by fall 1995.

She also had two major roles in the comedy Bug (2002) and the drama, Levitation (1997), where she starred as a pregnant teenager who searches for her biological mother, with the help of a guardian angel.BILLIE DEAN HOWARD - Closest friend and spiritual adviser to Constance, she's invited down to help inform Constance of what lingers amongst the spirits of the house. She appears to be a normal and quiet friend to anyone, but does carry her eerie sensibility. Actress Sarah Paulson has been acting since the mid-90's, where she started her career on a show much like this one called, "American Gothic". She has since become a wonderful actress with a warming personality.
FUN FACT: The character "Billie Dean Howard" is based on real life author and psychic, Allison DuBois.
A QUOTE FROM BILLIE DEAN: "The dead can hold a grudge better than most Scorpios."- Veteran actress Christine Estabrook has built an impressive portfolio of roles in film, television, and theater.
Born and raised in East Aurora, near Buffalo, New York, Estabrook was one of five children raised by a single mother. She worked her way through school at various jobs, including a stint at the very first Fisher-Price toy factory making toys by hand. After graduating from the prestigious Yale School of Drama (among her classmates was Meryl Streep), she moved to New York to pursue an acting career.
She quickly made her mark in the theater, starring in Broadway productions of The Sisters Rosenzweig, The Heidi Chronicles, I'm Not Rappaport, The Inspector General, and The Cherry Orchard. She won a Drama Desk Award for the Off-Broadway production of The Boys Next Door, an Obie Award for her role in Pastorale, and a Drama Desk Award nomination for her performance in North Shore Fish.
