- DirectorJoe RussoStarsJoel McHaleGillian JacobsDanny PudiThe study group plays Dungeons & Dragons with another classmate to improve his spirits, but Pierce's jealousies cause their good intentions to backfire. In this episode, we see a likeable character called 'Fat Neil' get invited to play Dungeons and Dragons with the main cast. They keep on saying that the term 'Fat Neil' is cruel, which it is, but at the end the narrator calls him 'Fat Neil', defeating the whole purpose of the episode.
- CreatorDavid BroomeMark KoopsBen SilvermanStarsBob HarperAlison SweeneyJillian MichaelsContestants transform mentally and physically as they compete to lose weight and win a cash prize. Why we're doomed: This show features obese contestants, who all want to be healthy, a task I wish them the best in. But here's the problem. They make them undergo exercise at the most unhealthy rates, and the 'temptations' come across as cruel. Worst was when to meet their families, they have to get unhealthy ways so the tv show could make the point how other people can influence others in a negative way
- CreatorAnthony BeltempoSallyAnn SalsanoStarsPaul 'Pauly D' DelVecchioSammi 'Sweetheart' GiancolaNicole PolizziA reality-based look at the vapid lives of several New Jersey 20-somethings and their respective friends and/or hook-ups.Why we're doomed: This vapid and shallow, racist show that is passed off as entertainment just glorifies peoples egos to the point. It makes people feel bad about themselves, and I declare the human race doomed
- CreatorAdam DiVelloStarsAudrina PatridgeHeidi MontagSpencer PrattAfter high school graduation, "Laguna Beach" alumna Lauren sets out to live on her own in Los Angeles and work as an intern at Teen Vogue.Do I actually need to explain this?
- DirectorBetty ThomasStarsJesse MetcalfeAshantiArielle KebbelThree ex-girlfriends of a serial cheater set up their former lover to fall for the new girl in town so they can watch him get his heart broken.A film about getting revenge on your ex. They go to great lengths to get revenge. No really, they do. Although the main male character is a massive tool and I hate him, it is not funny to see someone get tortured. Really, the only message I got out of this was: Revenge is the answer as opposed to figuring things out
- DirectorStephen DaldryStarsKate WinsletRalph FiennesBruno GanzPost-WWII Germany: Nearly a decade after his affair with an older woman came to a mysterious end, law student Michael Berg re-encounters his former lover as she defends herself in a war-crime trial. Why we're doomed: This film was released in Australia (that's where I live!!!) around February, 2009. Near the Oscars were on. Kate Winslet won her Oscar, and the next Saturday and ad for the Reader appeared on the paper. But instead of Winslet as her character, it was of Kate winning her oscar. I was quite disgusted when I saw this. It was a straight out Oscar- bait film, but used a sensitive topic such as The Holocaust to achieve this. SHAME ON YOU.
- CreatorMark CroninStarsShanna MoaklerJenessa WainwrightCheyenne AikensBrides compete for plastic surgery treatments and a fantasy wedding.Shallow, vapid. Contestants try to get the best wedding they can, forgetting everything about love.
- DirectorJim Field SmithStarsJay BaruchelAlice EveT.J. MillerAn average Joe meets the perfect woman, but his lack of confidence and the influence of his friends and family begin to pick away at the relationship. Why we're doomed: Look to your left. See the 'How can a 10 go for a 5' That's the problem. A show that marks perfectly fine looking characters a score out of ten, we look at ourselves only to give us a score that is lower than we deserve.
- DirectorMichael BayStarsShia LaBeoufMegan FoxJosh DuhamelSam Witwicky leaves the Autobots behind for a normal life. But when his mind is filled with cryptic symbols, the Decepticons target him and he is dragged back into the Transformers' war.Why we're doomed: The first transformers was an above average action film that was enjoyable. I gave it a 7 on imdb. But this sequel was just full of empty fart jokes and stupidity. Also, it was one of the highest- grossest films of 2009
- DirectorFlorian Henckel von DonnersmarckStarsJohnny DeppAngelina JoliePaul BettanyRevolves around Frank, an American tourist visiting Italy to mend a broken heart. Elise is an extraordinary woman who deliberately crosses his path. Why we're doomed: This film tries to be an old fashioned, glamorous film. It tries too hard, and we are doomed because entertainment is trying to be from a different time period. It shows that humanity is desperate to belong from a different time period, reviving another period instead of inventing something
- DirectorTim BurtonStarsMia WasikowskaJohnny DeppHelena Bonham CarterNineteen-year-old Alice returns to the magical world from her childhood adventure, where she reunites with her old friends and learns of her true destiny: to end the Red Queen's reign of terror. Why we're doomed: The want to create more money dictates art. Why is it in 3d? Why is their a generic battle scene at the end? It's a Tim Burton film, why isn't it weird?
- DirectorTrey ParkerStarsTrey ParkerMatt StoneElle RussPopular Broadway actor Gary Johnston is recruited by the elite counter-terrorism organization Team America: World Police. As the world begins to crumble around him, he must battle with terrorists, celebrities and falling in love. Why we're doomed: Because this film is just trying to say political correctness is wrong. But is society actually that politically correct? Not as much as people make it out to be. The thing is that people who are politically correct have the intention to not hurt other people's feelings. This film is racist. By saying it is 'politically incorrect' just sounds like an excuse
- DirectorMike JudgeStarsLuke WilsonMaya RudolphDax ShepardCorporal Joe Bauers, a decidedly average American, is selected for a top-secret hibernation program but is forgotten and left to awaken to a future so incredibly moronic that he's easily the most intelligent person alive. Why we're doomed: For a film that proves commercialism will make the human race ultimately dumb, this film feels a tad lazy when it comes to the comedy side. Most of the time, we are just laughing at people that's aren't just stupid, they are uneducated because their lifestyle is different to ours.
- DirectorMark WatersStarsLindsay LohanJonathan BennettRachel McAdamsCady Heron is a hit with The Plastics, the A-list girl clique at her new school, until she makes the mistake of falling for Aaron Samuels, the ex-boyfriend of alpha Plastic Regina George. Why we're doomed: The facebook quotes. Nearly every line on mean girls has a quote from it, leaving it to be ruined, a film that leaves no surprises on second, third and fourth views. We are doomed because we ruin the things we love. We all know listening to the same song over and over ruins it, yet we don't learn any lessons about why that's bad.
- DirectorGeorge LucasStarsHayden ChristensenNatalie PortmanEwan McGregorThree years into the Clone Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi pursues a new threat, while Anakin Skywalker is lured by Chancellor Palpatine into a sinister plot to rule the galaxy. Why we're doomed: Revenge Of The Sith is an above decent film. Sure, the screenplay is awful at times and the acting isn't all that great, but it is watchable, entertaining and enjoyable. It was one of my favourite films of 2005. I'll spare you all my Metallica metaphor here, but I remember being 10 when I saw this. Fans that were thirty would tell me how rubbish it was and that I was a 'lesser' person because I enjoyed this. The problem I learned about this is that we frown on anything that appears younger than we are. We try to make our generation feel better, more better.
- DirectorAlfonso Gomez-RejonStarsDianna AgronChris ColferJessalyn GilsigFinn accidentally breaks Rachel's nose during dance rehearsals. The campaign to become prom queen heats up between the girls. In this episode of Glee, the characters wear their flaws on a t-shirt. One boy's flaw is that he 'LIKES BOYS' As if that was a flaw. It's not a flaw. Being gay is never a flaw. This show even says that things such as OCD is a flaw. Rachel's flaw is her 'nose' a perfectly fine one. Artie's one is wearing glasses. None of these are flaws. Well done for making its audience feel awful about themselves.
- DirectorChris FisherStarsDaveigh ChaseBriana EviganJames LaffertyDonnie Darko's little sister Samantha and her best friend Corey are on a cross-country road trip, but soon find themselves entangled in a dangerous glitch in the time-space continuum. Why we're doomed: We WANT to feel like victims. S Darko was the sequel to Donnie Darko and was universally hated. Original fans were moaning on the internet. Cruel Intentions and Butterfly Effects fans did similar things. Everyone knows they won't like the movie. So why are they made? Why do original fans watch them? So at the end of the day, we can feel like victims.
- DirectorCatherine HardwickeStarsKristen StewartRobert PattinsonBilly BurkeWhen Bella Swan moves to a small town in the Pacific Northwest, she falls in love with Edward Cullen, a mysterious classmate who reveals himself to be a 108-year-old vampire. Why we're doomed: We hate films because 12 year old girls like them.
Yes, the Twilight fanbase is annoying. People's reasons on imdb for giving Twilight a low score is because of the fanbase, forgetting the director, actors and crew have NO CONTROL over the fanbase. After twilight was released, you also had fans getting into Muse and Radiohead, two fine rock bands. But they weren't called real fans because they were too young, and now those bands were popular (oh wait, they always were) - DirectorMatthew DiamondStarsDemi LovatoJoe JonasMeaghan MartinAt a music camp for gifted teens, a popular teen idol overhears a girl singing and sets out to find who the talented voice belongs to. What he doesn't know is that the girl is actually a camp kitchen worker with a fear of being heard. Why we're doomed: This film is about an insecure character. That's all I really need to say about the film to prove my point. How many films can you name that feature an insecure character, a misfit, a loner, someone labelled a loser by society, etc? You've probably seen heaps of films that can do that. They exploit peoples insecurities, but the thing about Camp Rock is that it was a film with heaps of merchandise. So the fans of the film buy the merchandise as opposed to the therapy they need more. In conclusion, we are doomed because we as a society like to take advantage of peoples insecurities
- DirectorJared HessStarsJon HederEfren RamirezJon GriesA listless and alienated teenager decides to help his new friend win the class presidency in their small western high school, while he must deal with his bizarre family life back home. Why we're doomed: With the 'vote for pedro' t-shirts and the screenplay quoting, this film, and its sheep followers try too hard to be different, so the anti-conformists conform to being anti-conformists. It also made people view 'nerds' as quirky, and slowly people starting trying to be them whilst looking down at them.
- DirectorJason FriedbergAaron SeltzerStarsCarmen ElectraVanessa LacheyNicole ParkerOver the course of one evening, an unsuspecting group of twenty-somethings find themselves bombarded by a series of natural disasters and catastrophic events.A spoof film filled with fart jokes is still enough to be able to be accepted in a mainstream theatre, by meshing up everybody's favourite tv shows to produce something so pathetic
