When the locksmith is released from jail, he seems older and is gray-haired. He returns to the forest, finds the hidden gold and goes to a jewelry store where he sells the gold back. He gets twice the money that he had paid for this gold. In order to compensate for his crime, he repays his old customer the exact amount that he had previously stolen from him.
