- Hank, a hot dog seller on the beach, is employed in a rich man's house as porter after saving his daughter from drowning.
- While struggling with two police officers who are trying to remove him from a barrel, Hank Mann espies a damsel in distress and endeavors to rescue her. After evading Persian-garbed guards, Hank infiltrates the harem and bedazzles the pasha with a rendition of the dance of the seven veils. Hank leads the women to freedom and chases the pasha through the trick doors and floors of the harem and, with the help of the police, captures him.
- A mild-mannered, well-meaning but bumbling janitor gets unwittingly involved in a battle between two opposing political groups, with each side trying to use him to destroy the other, and the secret police--who have already thrown him out of their office when he worked there--watching all of them.
- A poor chap, with only fifty cents, hesitates whether to buy a meal with it or visit a fortune teller. He chooses the latter, and gazing into a crystal globe, he is told to follow the horses. He is then shown working around a racing stable, and, of course, rides the heroine's horse to victory. That night they decide to celebrate in a cabaret, where several amusing complications ensue. All this is revealed in the crystal ball and, waking up, Hank finds himself in the fortune teller's booth. Going out, he gazes longingly at the sign advertising meals for a half a dollar.
- The action takes place in a gum factory. By a peculiar accident, a bootlegger attempting to avoid the keen eye of an officer of the law, holds a bottle of liquor so that its contents drop into a vat in which the gum is being prepared. It is when the gum is finished and ready to chew that the riot starts. The folks discover before long that it includes fire-water and you can imagine the rest.
- Hank is left in charge of an smarmy artist's studio, who's owner rejected a young woman who desired to be a model due to her not being shapely enough. The woman seeks revenge by getting her beach buddies to stage a false raid.

- The daughter of the blacksmith elopes with the blacksmith's helper, and in the barber shop which she has inherited, a series of amusing incidents happen through the incompetence of the barber.
